    What do you do to get psyched up to either motivate or get in the right mind set before going to the gym?

    I usually make a big winny and muscletech shake and drink it. bout 45 min before

    then about 15 min before, I beat my wife and dog


    and then boom...im ready to go!!!



    I actually use other people as motivation to do better and be better

    adderall.... but i wouldnt recommend it.

    before that i would watch youtubes of BB'ers movin big weight. take some amplify 02 and i was on my way. worked good

    focus....start a visualization process....it is the lock-out of each rep that is your focus....and in your mind see the one thing that infuriates you.....i used to visaulize the throwdown of a meth head in a drug bust....that uhhh, as he is being thrown to the floor....take that feeling and mark it to the lock-out

    I am new to this area and I only have one workout partner and he is sooooo lazy. I try to just think of my goals and what I want to achieve.......or ex girlfriends who have pissed me off

    I think part of my problem is I workout at 24 hour fitness. I need to find another gym that doesn't have 8 year old grommets running around playing on the machines.
    I want to walk into the gym and see some serious training. That motivates me when I see other people killing themselves.

    I pop half a dozen 5mg dexedrin pills with my pre workout meal. , the one thing that sucks is that it's an appetite suppresant, I'm used to force feeding(IE gagging) so it's fine.. THis sounds bad but im pratically reliant on it I've been taking it pre workout since january,

    I just tell myself that I HAVE to do it. I dont think about anything else except I must do it. I even tell myself that I got a rope tied to the weight and if I dont rep it out than the rope drops and my mom falls off a cliff. It's retarded but it makes me do it. LOL.

    To put it simply, when you don't have that deep down drive then there is nothing that will help. There were times I just didn't have that drive and no matter what I did I would keep stalling. You just have to find a big enough reason why you lift. If the reason is not big enough or motivational enough then you might get by on videos and stimulants short term but after a few weeks or months that will fade.

    Also think about hot gals i'd like to smash hahaha. I imagine they're at the gym watching me bench, deadlift etc & if i can't finish my sets they're gonna laugh at me cos i'm a weak failure. usually works

    I just think about being 6' 150lbs in high school. And know that if I stopped working out, I would head in that direction quickly. That usually does the trick.

    I agree though, I don't need to psyche myself up, I look forward to the gym. And being in a good mood definitely helps.

    I have a terribly lazy roommate who has resorted to 'quick fixes' and instant gratification in his life. Instead of running (keep in mind in the last year he ran e2d) he sits infront of the tv to play video games and watch movies. On Fridays he parties till 2AM, saturday he parties till 5AM. Then sleeps pretty much all sundays. At first I was extremely angry at him for giving up working out and trying to better himself, but now I find it more of a good thing, because it makes me want to go all that much and brag how well I'm doing at the gym.

    Works for me.

    there is nothing wrong with a balance of the 2. I'd rather be out partying with hot girls then home making servings of chicken and rice and going to bed early so i can be up at 8 on a sunday for the gym

    point taken, and i would never expect anyone not to go out and have some fun. however there's line drawn 'how much is too much?' if you consume a case of beer, 2 shots and probably throw drugs in there too i wouldn't call that balanced. i like going out, but i'm not in the phase of *lets get so shitfaced everything is a blur and the entire sunday is spent in the bed drinking slurpees and eating mcdonalds* like my roommate.

    every once and a while, sure. i'll be finishing up my uni exams later this week and plan to rip up the night. but i have to control myself because i know if i go too crazy, i'm probably going to be sick, the next day (or two) my diet will be completely out of wack...and i can't party with lots of hot chicks anyways because i have a GF
