in my opinion wayne is like little john, they make club music. there songs have great beats. but as far as lyrics go they both have some of the worst music around. they make krunk music.

I agree his music doesn't have the most substance. However, it doesnt matter much to me cus it puts me in a good mood. Tupac may have been the best rapper ever but alot of his music was very negative.
When i hear lil wayne say something like :
"I'm the Birdman Birdman Jr. bitch
I be high in the sky shit on you and ya bitch"
i can't help but laugh my ass off

tupac best EVER??? dead or alive??? he is on top list but to say best ever is a tough one!! I like a lot of the old school dudes that really got it going...

I dont like anything after what I call the post-apocalyptic era of rap. Basically anything past the year 2000 is crap with a few exceptions. I really enjoyed and still enjoy middle to late 80's rap and of course gangsta rap. Really was into NWA, I love listing to their lyrics and finding all the little messages. That was passion, soul, injustice, anger, rage, desperation, plight, so many emotions in those songs. These are things that are not in modern day hiphop/rap right now for the most part. I am no expert though so I probably really don't know what I am talking about right now.

lil' wayne is a joke. hip hop/rap is about the poetry THEN the beat. gangster rap is the most pathetic genre of music in the word. indistinguishable beats, bullshit lyrics that dont only dont mean anything, they dont even ****in rhyme?! **** DAT BITCH WUTCHYA STICK IT IN A
ERRRRRR
STICK IT IN HA
ERRRRRRRG
STICK IT IN ha
EEEEEERRRG!!!
that shit is a farse. an absolute joke, and only sells to 2 extremely ignorant demographics of people
A) kids who want to be gangsters
B) adults who want to be gangsters.
immortal technique is the only dude ile give credit who i still consider to be "gangsta" rap..the rest of that shit today is a travesty.

I agree that Big L has some of the best lyrics - the 98 freestyle has versus from some of his other songs tho which disappointed me - Lifestylez ov da poor and dangerous & THe Big Picture are the 2 albums I have from him and are worth dl'ing and listening to
i think that BIG is the best story teller but my favorite rap was death row 92-96. Dre, snoop and 2pac on the same label do it for me

Tech N9NE without a doubt.

Hahaha.
I can't believe people listed Akon. I mean each to their own but he's barely even a "rapper".
Plus his criminal record is all fabricated. I'll post the site where i found out basically all the shit he talks about being a convict is fake haha.
Also eminem?
Whilst the slim shady & marshal mathers albums were both ****en awesome, he really fell off after that. Nowdays he just plain sucks.
He definetely had talent, no denying that but to say he's the best rapper ever is a big statement & one i can't agree with. He's probably in the top 15-20 but in no way the greatest..
Any of you here Big Pun fans? Now there's a dude that is defo one of the greatest. His flow & breath control were just ****en insane. Not many that can **** with him on tracks.

You guys should check D.O.C. He's basically the mastermind behind NWA. This guy's a sick lyricist.
