Recently broke out Snoop's oldschool Doggystyle. Jay-Z is has sold the most overall out of anyone if I am not mistaken.

Weezy's lyrical ability is laughable. Rap is full of these fake gangsters with their played out subject matter and same old manufactured attitude. I like listening to rappers with something to say, guys that are poets underneath it all. Nas, Mos Def, Common, KRS-ONE etc.

some real tight rappers out there that no one hears of.

    louis logic
    self titeld
    nas
    mos def
    eminen

thats my top 5 right there,i know pepole would find it wierd that i put eminem up there with those great writers ,but when he realy puts is mind to it ,he is one of the most thrilling rappers to listin to it (IE:"kim" a track that i'm finding some comfort in right now )
also, he is one of the best "battle Mc's" i've got to hear ,not alot of folks can hurt you as much as he can on the mic.

I'm from new orleans so I'm somewhat partial to all ca$h money. Wayne is the best out of cash money, but not overall. BG and Juvenile were better than wayne back in the day, but he has progressed alot since then.

Lately ive been listening to alot of:
    Kanye west
    Lupe Fiasco
    Plies
    Akon
    Atmosphere
    Bone Thugs N Harmony

Nas and AZ are tight too. Illmatic is fvckin timeless. Its from like 1993 and sounds better than 90% the shit that comes out today..

New Orleans still has the best rap though

    Wooot!

    My type of thread.

In my honest opinion i'd have to say Immortal Technique. Tight flow, unique/vicious lyrics, conscious. He's kinda like a modern day (better) KRS-One.

    I also like

    Vinnie Paz from JMT.
    Diabolic
    Jus Allah
    Cage
    Sticky Fingaz

i like wayne but he needs to stick with rapping. he is now trying to sing and play the gutar. but i will agree with these guys he is by far not even close to the best. in my opinion luda, jay and emenem are the best lyrcists of the time.

    that song gave me chills
but I.T has a problem,if the track is not political he kind of fades,he's still very witty, but lose's his kick when the track is not Anti goverment or such.

Anybody ever hear of Jeru the Damaja? If not you should check it out. Easily one the most overlooked rappers ever.
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vNmEA...eature=related

    Some of my favorites are:
    Genius (GZA)
    Raekwon
    NAS
    Rakim
    AZ

    Groups:
    Gravediggaz (really good stuff)
    Goodie Mob
    Outkast

Lil Wayne is probably one of the worst rappers alive. All that shit is the same.

Yo check out my Jacob watch, Im rollin on dubs, my girl gots a fat azz.

It's just crap. Absolutely no substance to their songs.

I heard a song of Lil Wayne's off his newest album, made no sense so I searched the lyrics...

"You cant stop my fresh, you cant handle dat
If you can baby let me know sumthin
I'll be waitin over by the show f**k
    Wat chu talkin bout"

    Just shoot me now lol.
