    Best Barbeque Sauce.....Ever

Hey guys, just wanted to let everybody know that I went to the Inman Park Festival here in Atlanta over the weekend and a booth was selling some Barbeque sauce called "Smack Yo Mama". You guys have got to get some of this sh-t. It is by far the best barbeque sauce I have had.

Then it got me to thinking.....if anybody has a really good barbeque recipe, feel free to share it. I know some of your folks down south probably have some good ones that have been passed down from generation to generation.

And no DSM.....I don't need any of your secret recipes...jk.

Best BBQ sause I ever had was at a rib place called Curtis's BBQ in VT. He's an old Jamacian dude or something, his sauce was the shit. Kinda a vinager base or something like that.

They do mostly smoked ribs there. He has a pet pot belly pig that watches him cook. I didn't think that was very nice to the pig, he must just be waiting for his number to come up.

Try making your own. You can control the calories and still make it tasty.

I like sweet baby rays but I did a window job for a guy last year that made his own BBQ sauce. He gave me a little bit of it and it was amazing. His son teaches at a culinary arts school and he won't even give his son the recipe, lol.

    Try something like this:

    # 1 small onion, minced
    # 1 clove garlic, minced or 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
    # 1 small can (6 oz) tomato paste
    # 1 can (12 oz) diet (sugar-free) cola - Splenda-sweetened preferred
    # 1/4 cup low carb (sugar-free) ketchup
    # 3 T mustard
    # 1 Tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
    # 1 pinch ground cloves
    # Hot sauce to taste

I usually add some jalepenos and a few teaspoons of vinegar as well then let it cook down for 45 minutes or to desired thickness. Add different seasonings or more garlic or whatever the hell you want to change the taste to your taste buds. Now that's a healthy bbq sauce worth making!

^oh yeah. Mince the onion and garlic and cook down in a small amount of olive oil for a few minutes before adding other ingridients.

I've done a bunch of different things to this recipe to change the flavor. Try chipolte peppers (smoked jalepenos), turkey bacon and it's pan grease , mangos, oranges, and all different regular seasoning you can find. Try adding different herbs as well, I love cilantro and dill in it.
