high school football
my grandson(passed to 8th grade) has been doing 2 a days with our local high school( the only 8th grader to be invited). its no pads, no hitting, just conditioning and weight lifting. all the lifting is free weights.... power cleans, squats, clean and jerks....power movements. what a program! at middle school level the kids are kids, at this level the kids are young men, i am impressed. these boys want to play!

so your grandson is going into 9th grade? and doing power movements? as long as they are taught proper form i think thats great. dont want any injuries at such a young age.

Sounds like my two a days for soccer in high school then college. We couldn't touch a ball til a certain date so it was all long distance running, sprints and agility with weight lifting at night in a gym with no AC. It was hell but I believe it gives great character and discipline. Hopefully your grandson doesn't get burnt out on it because something like this could be great for his future.

Boy yeah thats a great comparison because every player on both teams came from ONLY Ohio and Louisiana respectively....Sorry man on a high school level, LA isnt even in the same class as OH, FL, CA, TX
-
If I remember correctly LA was about number 8 and OH was around 5 with Mississippi coming in first in the AP high school state rankings.

Sounds about right. Ohio 16 top 250 recruits. LA 11....I'm not tryin to bash the state completey definately some serious high school talent there.

I think it was in the USA Today a few months ago. I'll search for the article.

I see kids in my local gym not able to drive benching 250. Not that uncommon to see 9th graders going at it like that.
