Ok Ok... Benchpress Proper Form
let me start off with HAHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHAHHA.....
so this guy tonight at the gym walks in with a 4' long 2*4... Im thinkin ok this is kinda odd but whatever.. I come back to the area where the benches are, hahhahahah and this ****ing guy has the 2*4 underneath his shirt, going from his chest to his lower stomach hahha not joking.... He then proceeds to bench a WHOLE 225 pounds, while SLAMMING the weight off this piece of wood which acts like a sling shot hahahhahaha It was too funny, like wtf??????????????

Its called towel benching, or at least what I call it, and use a towel.
Its actually beneficial. Not bouncing it off though lol....

The powerlifters at the world gym in san diego had these really thick board for their bench presses when I was there last summer.
I will be required to do this form of bench from here on out. I had shoulder surgery to repair the entire posterior labrum, and I can't go deep on bench anymore. I was told no one should, it's terrible for the joint.

board presses are legit... ive never seen someone put the board under their shirt though. normal people have someone else hold it in place.

i have never bought bouncing into that chest bullshit. its not good, its bad form, it doesnt make any sense, and sure its bad for your joints.
But i do believe in proper range of motion and controlled form.
But remeber power lifting and body building are quite different.

Board presses are used a lot by powerlifters. They work great for lockout and tricep strength. Real powerlifters know their stuff tho. There's a lot of science to back up what they do. Now bouncing it of the chest is not what most powerlifters do. Using they pause or touch and go.

I've done those with a tightly rolled up towel before because it was on a workout system I was trying. They seemed to help raise my bench max while not hurting my shoulder too much but now I only strictly use dumbells because of the shoulder.

How big was the guy? I mean if a dude is doing board presses with 225 and he's 140lbs then the only problem I have is with the bounce. Board presses are almost a necessity in powerlifting.

Well most guys on here body build cause most who lift weights do so to look better and to gain muscle.
Power lifters diets and methods of training are simply to lift more weight and just get bigger overall.
There is nothing wrong with its just different. But still i dont like to workout like that IMO at all.
