Average age of quitting....
Just wondering if anyone knew what the average age of bodybuilders quitting or getting out of competition.
Also what is the age that most men have to stop lifting and trying to add size? Is there a point where its not worth it to keep trying to maintain that six pack and muscle tone?
I'm NOwhere near that age, but just a question for thought!

I guess most pro bodybuilders die around the age of 50 due to excessive steroid use and other drugs on a scale an average bb would never use, an average serious bb usually gives up around that time due to age catching up with them such as health problems heart problems and generally not being able do to half the things they could do when they were younger, sure they are the same problems pro bb get but i think with the excessive use of aas they die than actually being able to give it up imo. So either way the avg.age is probably 50.

Joker making an idiotic post like that shows you know nothing! So most pro bodybuilders die around the age of 50 please show me the proof or studies to back that statement up! People die young every day but to say that the pro bodybuilders are dead by 50 because of steroid use is just plain dumb! Please list bodybuilders who have died as a result of steroids by the age of 50!

Where on earthe did i post bb die because of steroid use ? i said excessive steroid use and if you read all the post you can see it is intertwined with getting old and other health and medical problems so keep your idiotic post to yourself unless you read mine first.

I would say excessive use probably knocks a year or two off your life. Check my post in this forum "A Juice Story". I was not a pro, but knocked a few years off my life due to excessive steroid use

Wow I leave this forum for a couple months to take a break and I come back and see the same bullshit.
"LOOK AT ALL THOSE PRO WRESTLERS DIED WHEN THEY WERE YOUNG ZOMG ITS STEROIDS "
"AVERAGE LIFESPAN OF A STEROID -USING BODYBUILDER IS 50 YEARS!!111oneoneone"
Pro wrestlers do not fall into the category of bodybuilders. Pro wrestling (WWE stuff) is a shady sport and they're into all kinds of other things like non-otc painkiller medication, cocaine use, and God knows what else. How can you make stupid blanket statements like that?
The average lifespan of a bodybuilder indulging in EXCESSIVE steroid use would take off time from his life. Responsible use? No. Infact, you can't even say yes or no because there are so many variables to the equation. Look at Bob Clapp, 73 years old and has been using steroids since 20 years old. He's in amazing health condition.
To top it all off, people die young every day and nobody says anything about them. Once someone dies young BUT they use steroids , suddenly all fingers point to them. It's all bullshit.
Do you plan on living forever anyways?

I read your other posts. When making statements about something (especially blanket statements), "guesses" should be the last thing to post.
And opinions are like assholes, everybody has one and they all stink.

My friend dated the Big Shows sister and I got to meet him a bunch of times.... Old boy was very into his coke!!!! When your numbers up, its up bottom line. I for one do believe that excessive abuse of anything, Steroids , Cocaine, ect ect will knock years off you life though. Read the new Muscle Mag... Great article with Mikey Matarazzo in it. Very good if anyone is interested

My guess wasnt just a complete guess it was an educated guess, to completely rule steroids out of contributing to early death and other health problems is just plain stupid as to many steroid users have died really young but i do get your point that when someone dies and there on steroids they automatically blame the steroids is totally outrageous.

I have peronally blames the use of steroids on my fathers death maybe thats why i feel use of steroids is and be big contributing factor in an early death but i dont feel that when an aas user dies it must be the steroids, just every case is individual

Yeah, I wouldn't say 50 either. I look at people like lou ferrigno and arnold and some other guys that are still around. I'm not sure how some of the guys are (that have retired), but those two gotta be atleast 50.
Did you guys see Lou in the the latest hulk as a security guard, he was looking pretty good for his age!

I'll take a shot in the dark and feel comfortable saying it dude... Did a lot of damage to my organs bro and have the medical records to prove it... I hope not though... Just my opinion though. Excessive amount of anything will do your body harm

idk, but too much of anything can kill you.
I could drink too much water right now and die.
All depends on using/abusing, what one calls "excessive", etc...

Thanks bro.... I am pretty healthy but back then I was dying. Its just like Sexy said, you can die from drinking to much water. Its not fair to say Bodybuilders die from Steroids , but I can see why Joker might have some animosity towards them if he lost his dad. Point is, Too much of anything can kill you.

I am burnt out from arguing.......so I am just going to come out and say it.....using pro wrestlers as an example makes you a legitimate retard. and if you dont know why I am calling you a retard, that really ensures that you are retarded and spraying bullshit with which you know nothing about. ya, I am calling you out for running your mouth on a topic you have no authority on.
good day.Last edited by IronReload04; 06-30-2008 at 09:10 PM.

Joker I have no problem responding to you. As I have been busy with other things and didn't get a chance to respond earlier. First I'm sorry for the loss of ur father. I may have come off a little rude and i apologize for that, but ur post shows the ignorance of the general public and how the media plays to people! As Atomini posted above young people die everyday from various things but if a bodybuilder or athlete dies young the media blames it on steroids or the general public just blames it on steroid use because people have been programmed to think steroids kill or cause people to do terrible things. I think you need to do more research into the use of steroids and try and put aside any preconceived thinking and do so with an open mind!
As for the bodybuilders who have died young I believe most of them had preexisting health problems that steroids may have contributed to these problems happening sooner.
As for wrestling, steroids are the least of their problems as they are addicted to many different drugs as in pain killers and rec drugs.

yes i agree they do not kill people. i know a guy who had cancer and steroids have sped up the growth and seriousness of his cancer. so if you have pre history of medical issues steroids are not for you imo and in other cases certaintly speed things up so they happen sooner

HRT is a legal prescription for Test and HGH. How do you think the Sly Stalone keeps that ripped look. I know what your saying oh the dose is so low. My doc prescribes 250 mg Test Cyp a week for me That is not bad wait now add 2 iu GH ED on that and some T3 and anything else he needs to keep my hormones in check. I am 41 yrs old I weigh 213 lbs @ 5' 7" BF is 11% (Really) 16% is considered lean for a 40 yr old. I Strength train 5 days week (not bragging just making a point) People stop and watch me work out. I can do things at 41 that I could not do at 19 or 20 when I was on a 6 day BB split. Most of the BB contests now have 40+ and 50 + categorys check some of those guys out. And my Doc is not even one of those longevity anti aging Docs you should see the doses they prescribe. All I am saying is AAS is being used to keep old people young.
