Is it Legal to Infra-red to spy on someone

Like if you get a detective can they legally use infra-red to see heat images of you?
    how about cops?

i ask cus I trained some kid who was natural and got phenomenal results
I live in a small town and heard some juicer accusations, but nothing too heavy

I live in a very woody area so normal cams wont do only heat ones if they wanted to check me out lol

i honestly doubt from rumors they are watching your house. And if its a small town doubt they would also have infra red.

Most thermal cameras detect heat radiation from solid objects. They can't see you through walls dude.

My understanding that this is legal as long as no audio is recorded.

    Go figure.

Yes a detective or PI can use infra red, highly unlikely though. One could film you on your own property, in the open, but once you film through a fence without warrants and permission, it become illegal.

The coppers can use ANYTHING and EVERYTHING that is generally available to the general public to spy on you; this includes audio, thermal imaging, etc........

They do not need a warrant to use such devices, nor is it a violation of your Constitutional rights. You may disagree with me, however, there are nine robed Justices that would disagree. Your only defense against this type of surveillance is to prove that the means used is not "generally available" to the public.....good luck. I...um er...I hear that attorneys charge about $500 per hour to try and prove the lack of general availability of such devices.

Just keep the danged operation small, OKAY???? Jail has to suck!

not unless they have a warrant, and heat only shows coming and going, and activity inside a darkened home..

    not through walls..

To expand, unusual devices and technologies cannot be deployed to observe a persons coming and going without due cause (warrant)

hell, they can't even hide behind a sign and use speed detectors, and that was a supreme court decision.

You do not have a right to privacy, the safety of the public comes 1st above individuals pursuit of happiness..

well u dont understand my town Sir
    its like that here

People are nice BUT VERY intrusive, you go one town North or South and its fine

its not out of thought for people here to aggressively ask the department to chekc people out, and the worst part is the cops DO

got pulled over 6 times in 3 weeks when I knew they just were in hyper check out mode

For some reason its VERY intrusive where I reside , a mini culture if you will
