While I have no love for the Bush administration or the policies enacted/actions taken over the past 8 years, I am still very proud to be a disabled vet, a veteran of foreign wars, a voter, a taxpayer, a conservative, a member of the NRA, and an American. Sometimes the grass can be greener on the other side, but more often than not, it isn't. There's a rather famous (or infamous on your point of view) American who renounced his US citizenship and became a Japanese citizen - funny thing is, he isn't (nor will he ever be) accepted as a Japanese and STILL has the same problems as the rest of us. When my family and I go on vacation to the US, my wife and kids can go through customs with me without any hassle. When we return to Japan, I have to go through a separate line and get fingerprinted and photographed EACH AND EVERY TIME. And it does not matter that I have a permanent residence visa. With this and the myriad of problems, issues, and racism that I've put up with, I probably should have left Japan a long time ago. But I choose to stay and try to improve the system by any legal means I can for myself, my wife, my children, other foreigners, and the Japanese as well. A few years down the road when we move back to CONUS, I'll do the same there.
nhl1, I am truly sorry that you've had more than your fair share of difficulties with various federal agencies and are fed up with the US. If leaving is truly in your heart, then best of luck to you wherever you decide to go. I sincerely hope everything works out for you bro!

Check my posts chief. Plenty of intelligent thoughts. It was you that stooped to calling names like a child in the other post. And even at that I had enough grace to say that you were completely within your right to have your opinion and express it as classless as you like.
Every American citizen has "earned" the right to be critical. (Read your Constitution that you so often refer to.) He also has the right to move, something you can't do in every country because govts. fear their citizens may leave to come to the US and never come back.
I advocate nothing in my post. If you care to make a summation such that I'm 'neo-conservative' so be it.
Trust me ace...I hold all individuals that have served their country in the highest regard and would gladly welcome them at my table.
If you wish to follow my posts around in attempt to bicker about all of my views feel free, but for someone with such angst for their govt. perhaps your time would be better served participating to enact the changes you so strongly desire. That is the joy of democracy...

I`ve heard the men to women ratio in Australia was 3:1. I mean, i`m all about competition, but a man could go into a serious dry spell with those kind of numbers.

Australia is f#cken awesome.
My parents are from europe so i've travelled to a couple of countries there & still wouldn't want to live anywhere but here.
The weather is great in summer & not too cold in winter, there is snow at some mountains if that's your thing.
The people are friendly. The gals are great. The only issue is juice, it's a bitch getting it thru customs but other than that i don't have anything bad to say about my country.

Move to Mexico…
Juice on every corner,
Cheap pharmacies,
Cheap labor,
Cuban cigars,
Excellent tequila,
Hot looking Latino chicks,
Great Mexican food,
And the federallies goes to the highest bidder…
What’s not to like just don’t drink the water…?Last edited by Fat Guy; 07-31-2008 at 12:26 PM.

Its a subjective question. Just the definition of "best" will defer quite a lot.Needless to say no place is perfect.

All governments are a scheme, a racket. They are territorial monopolies. It's like the mafia. They spoon feed you propaganda in state run schools from the age of 6 where you are standing up and soluting the flag and pledging allegiance every day in step with everyone else in the class. Day after day, year after year. It is BRAIN WASHING.
Brain washing to get you to be a good sheep and bend over and take it up the ass for more than 50% of your income every year! Not only that they have us dancing like monkeys in a cluster f*ck.
Picture this:
One half of the country is wearing red clothes with a picture of a donkey on them. The other half dressed in blue with a picture of an elephant on their clothes. Everyone is bent over and their pants are around their ankles. And all the ppl in red are arguing with all the people in blue while at the same time there are politicians going around and ass raping all of them. And rather than saying to themselves "What the F*ck?!?" and standing up, pulling their pants up and kicking the mother f*ckers ass who was just raping them they are arguing with each other..... the one's in blue are aruging that person X should be elected to be in charge of all the rapists and the people in red are arguing that person Y should be elected the head rapist in charge.
And yes, you are getting raped for FIFTY PERCENT of your income EVERY YEAR. State Tax, Federal Tax, Soc Security Tax, RR Tax, Sales Tax, Capital Gains Tax, Exise Tax, Property Tax (even if you rent, it's built into your rent), gas tax, alcohol tax, cigarette tax, speeding ticket tax, non seatbelt wearing ticket tax, parking wrong tax, renting a drivers license tax, car registration tax, and the biggest tax of all....the hidden tax... INFLATION. When the government prints money out of thin air they are making everything you own worth less. That make you 50% SLAVE.
If you had a pile of gold bricks in your living room you would be quite happy and wealthy. But if every single household in the country had a big pile of gold bricks in their living room they would be worthless. As common as rocks. That is the way it is when the government just prints money. It's a TAX on your ass.
I used to buy the patriotic schick. Not any more. It's a con to get poor people to join the military so that they can go fight in a war so that politically connected rich people can profit as war profiteers. It's a con to make you think that the government is good and helpful and make it taboo to question the status quo. It is BS. It's a scheme to keep an elite class of people in charge and to keep everyone else chewing grass while they get milked, and sometimes slaughtered.
It's not left vs. right, it's the government vs. YOU!
And it's AT LEAST 50% when taking into account historical inflation. Slaves we be. I don't respect the notion that I am supposed to be a 'good citizen' or not be 'unpatriotic'. That's propagana to keep every sheep in the matrix. You are living in the matrix right now.
It's time to take the red pill now.Last edited by 40plusnewbie; 07-31-2008 at 10:26 PM.

amsterdam.... lol
and this thread is funny and sad at the same time... all these people b*tching about government and such.... just have some faith, jeez..... bush isnt a good enough speaker to stay president, he doesnt have the suave speeches... which i find relieving because he was elected for the things he did, not talked about real good-like.... and who else would it have been, kerry? No thanks.... hind sight is always 20/20, but you have to remember the diff options at the time... and for everyone who seems to hate the US... ok you are entitled to hate the country u live in... can u do that in other countries? do other countries have those freedom of speech rights?
how about not think about how everything is bad but how things are good for us...
thats just for peeps in the us.... citizens of other countries that bitch about the us... how much do we pay attention to your country? are you always on the stand being observed on everything u do? jus a thought....
and to 40plusnewbie... do u think that we (humans as a race) would survive with out some sort of government? just think of playground rules the biggest strongest kid usually get what he wants.... so if we had no gov.... what would stop people from doing whatever they want? it would end up being total chaos, not to mention that how would many people get food? hunting? i doubt that many people konw how to hunt and with out a gov... we would have no market, so everyone would die... YES its not a perfect system but what in the real world is perfect?
i suggest u read "lord of the flies", that shows a system of no government... how well did that work?
governments are things that we have to deal with no matter where we are.. (except antartica, which is claimed by like 6 diff countries, yet noone lives there) if u hate government that much go live there...
as for the thread starter, best of luck in your move i hope that everything works out for the best....Last edited by Lemonada8; 08-05-2008 at 05:06 AM.

Just curious, where'd you live in Japan and for how long?
Anyhoo...
I just got back from Tokyo Disneyland. Today was supposed to be just for my kids (daughter-4 y.o., son-2 y.o.), but it was HELL!! I've never seen so many 30-40 y.o. teenagers (i.e., older women acting like little girls) and people who were fvcking ignorant, all crammed into one place. I won't go into the full details, but every 5 minutes we were stopped by Japs (sorry, but I'm not PC) that wanted to take their picture with OUR kids. And later in the evening, while we were watching Mickey's Electric Parade, my wife and kids were pushed out of the way by a group of 30-ish women wearing Minnie ears without so much as an "Excuse me." And we even had reserved seating!!!
There were a lot more problems, but even my 4 y.o. daughter got tired of this nonsense and started telling people, "Leave me alone!" in Japanese.
Not once during a two-month vacation around the US were we bothered. People were respectful, we got a few compliments, but no one ever got up in our faces saying, "Oh my God, your kids are so cute! I just have to have my picture taken with them!"
Off rant. CSAR out.
