In order to even transfer from a CC to a University you need at least a 3.0 but at a lot of well recognized schools you need a 3.5

What's your GPA? How much do you want to spend per year? ACT/SAT scores? Just a BA in criminal or duel degree? Thinking of grad school (i.e. law school?)?

college is college.... the school doesnt really matter that much anymore (unless its ivy league, etc but u went to comm college so i doubt thats a option)... it all matters with ur grades.... if u get the grades ull get the job...

my overall GPA for the two semesters at the community college averaged to a 3.1 GPA.. i got a 1000 on the SAT and didnt do the ACT, also, i am thinking about getting residency here in NC and trying to get into NC state, because tuition for a NC resident is 2g per semester as opposed to 8g for out of state tuition per semester, and my goal is to get a masters degree and who knows if i feel like it at the time possibly doctorate.. my brother's fiance thinks i should try to get my residency and get in NC state ASAP, i feel like i should go back to NY finish 1 more year for my associates and then try to transfer to a university, any opinions on this?

Thats not true...Most university's will only require between a 2.3-2.5 for transfers. The standards for transfers are much lower than those who go straight from high school to college. At the top tier university's their standards for transfer are 3.0-3.2 (Seton Hall, Villanova, etc..)

Honestly, the best advice I know to give is to switch majors. It really doesn't matter what college you graduate from if your major is criminal justice. You don't even need a college degree do enter the majority of criminal justice jobs. I would go so far as to say that if you apply for a criminal justice job with a bachelor's degree...they might just tell you you're over-qualified.
