Yes to some extent you are right. We cant be everywhere at once. We shouldnt be the world police.
But the problem is, if you are dead, you wont care what luxuries you have or how the economy is.
Fact of the matter is (no matter how many times you repeat the lie) we found WMDs in Iraq. We found tons of bioweapons, just not nukes. When a hostile country (that wont let weapons inspectors do their jobs) threatens us, and we have proof of them making Botulism Toxins and Anthrax, then we have a decision to make. Also, Saddam was a proven supporter of terrorists at the time, even giving bounties to Palestinian suicide bomber's families, and gave asylum to AlQuaeda leaders.
No, i didnt say anything about 911 and Saddam, so dont go that route either.
By the way, Iraq broke UN resolution after UN Resolution, and in the year 1998, BILL CLINTON unloaded our arsenal of cruise missles on iraqi targets. He also bombed a Sudanese aspirin factory that had links to UBL. Where are all the people saying Bill is a war monger or what a waste of money it was, or how many civilians died. Where is the night after night of bad press propaganda about all of the fighting we did under Clinton?Last edited by Diary of a Mad-man; 10-09-2008 at 07:58 AM.

Here are a few comments from Obama himself that left me a little disturbed. He has two books out now. "Dreams from My Father" and "The Audacity of Hope".
Dreams of My Father:'I ceased to advertise my mother's race at the age of 12 or 13, when I began to suspect that by doing so I was ingratiating myself to whites.'
Dreams of My Father : 'I found a solace in nursing a pervasive sense of grievance and animosity against my mother's race.'
Dreams of My Father:'There was something about him that made me wary, a little too sure of himself, maybe. And white.'
Dreams of My Father: 'It remained necessary to prove which side you were on, to show your loyalty to the black masses, to strike out and name names.'
Dreams of My Father:'I never emulate white men and brown men whose fates didn't speak to my own. It was into my father's image, the black man, son of Africa , that I'd packed all the attributes I sought in myself , the attributes of Martin and Malcolm, DuBois and Mandela.'
Audacity of Hope:'I will stand with the Muslims should the political winds shift in an ugly direction.'

I find him to be so racist, so polarized and seeking to advance a position i do not support that i am at a loss..
McCain won't win at this point, however, all my stocks are sold.. 401 is liquid via an llc, and purchased Gold.. I'ts safe, just never you mind where it's at.
I'll sit tight for the next 6 years, take a fed job, and keep one small cash company going..
that's the plan to survive at this point.. buy guns and gold.. never register either..The answer to your every question

Former GOP House leader says Cheney misled him on Iraq
The vice president told Dick Armey, who in 2002 spoke against going to war, that Saddam Hussein had direct ties to Al Qaeda and would soon have a suitcase nuclear weapon, a new book says.
From the Washington Post
September 16, 2008
WASHINGTON -- A GOP congressional leader who was wavering on giving President Bush the authority to wage war in late 2002 said Vice President Dick Cheney misled him by saying that Iraqi President Saddam Hussein had direct personal ties to Al Qaeda terrorists and was making rapid progress toward a suitcase nuclear weapon, according to a new book by Washington Post reporter Barton Gellman.
Cheney's accusations, described by former House Majority Leader Dick Armey of Texas, came in a classified one-on-one briefing in the vice president's office in the Capitol.
The threat Cheney described went far beyond public statements that have been criticized for relying on "cherry-picked" intelligence of unknown reliability. There was no intelligence to support the vice president's private assertions, Gellman reports.
Armey had spoken out against the coming war, and his opposition gave cover to Democrats who feared the political costs of appearing weak. Armey reversed his position after Cheney told him, he said, that the threat from Iraq was "more imminent than we want to portray to the public at large."
Cheney said, according to Armey, that Iraq's "ability to miniaturize weapons of mass destruction, particularly nuclear," had been "substantially refined since the first Gulf War."
Cheney linked that threat to Hussein's alleged ties to Al Qaeda, Armey said, explaining "we now know they have the ability to develop these weapons in a very portable fashion, and they have a delivery system in their relationship with organizations such as Al Qaeda."
"Did Dick Cheney . . . purposely tell me things he knew to be untrue?" Armey said. "I seriously feel that may be the case. . . . Had I known or believed then what I believe now, I would have publicly opposed [the war] resolution right to the bitter end."
-----------------------------------------------
Vice Presidents are getting more influential, and for god's sake, why would we have a goober governor from Alaska who has presided over a state with a smaller population than the city of Baltimore (that's in Maryland, btw)? WTF is wrong with McCain? Aren't there female Republicans with more experience than Palin? Two that come to mind are the women senators from Maine (Olympia Snow) and and Texas (Hutchinson).
Lordy lordy lordy . . .
Nevertheless, anyone will be an improvement over Cheney . . .Last edited by Tock; 10-09-2008 at 05:04 PM.

"Palin is only a melanoma away from being the US president".

I guess you one of those people that believe everything that comes out of the media's mouth. The media has always pushed for the democrats. I think you will be very suprised when voting starts and the polls come out. I wouldnt even believe what the early voting polls say either. Obama will not be our next president.

That's funny because Biden is quoted as saying he agreed with everything about Iraq...right down to WMDs.

his hands are far from clean when it comes to the war in iraq
look up all the ways he pushed the war
the guy loves using our military to intervene and try to stabilize the politics of the world. He already has other 3rd world regions he can't wait to get involved in...who needs to finish what we started in Iraq and ensure stability when we can start a new campain?

Which 'guy' are you refering to? Cheney or Biden?
The point of my post was the Democrats are now trying to throw the Iraq mess on the Republicans when some Democrats were vocal supporters of the initial invasion. Now it's time to vote, so they want to hand the grenade off and cover.
Damn it would be nice if they would all quit throwing mud and just tell us about what they have planned.

Since I'm staring at both books right now, please provide page numbers to back up your 'facts'. Especially the last quote from 'Audacity of Hope'. I'm not even going to go into his so-called racism, that doesn't exist.
As far as the supposed 100 lies, where did you get your facts because all the smear you've posted has already been refuted by the Obama campaign as well as independent sources.
It all boils down to the fact that Barack is pulling ahead and whining conservatives and right-wing bigots will do anything and say anything in an attempt to defame Obama. Sad!

^^you don't seriously believe there has been any republican that has been the focus of as many lies or smear as Obama do you? Obama is the most criticized and lied about presidential candidate in history. There is no denying that!

^^and I've yet to meet a republican who wasn't one either...now see how absurd that sounds?
So why should I be careful? And are you calling me a bigot because I disagree with someone lying in order to prop up 'their' candidate?Last edited by BgMc31; 10-10-2008 at 02:06 PM.

Please see pages p.xv, 101, 142, 220 of "Dreams From My Father"
Please see page 261 of "The Audacity of Hope"
It doesn't help to stare at the covers, you actually have to open them up and read the pages between them.
(And weather you now want to argue that they were taken out of context, point is, they were still said by Obama.)Last edited by VeraDeMilo; 10-13-2008 at 12:36 PM.
