Do you think that bird was really overtaken by a spider? seems kind of odd? maybe it was sick or dead already?
Birds are pretty bad ass...they pretty much own most anything it size or smaller..... a birds beak are pretty bad asss... I was thinking how they eat reptiles (snakes, lizards), bugs, fish, etc...
Kind of crazy if a spider took it out... on the other hand, spiders rule the insect world for the most part though....

If a spiders web was the diameter of a pencil it would stop a boeing 747 mid flight, that's how strong spider web is.

So many pus5y's saying they wont go to Australia cause of dangerous animals, more people die from traffic accidents then dangerous animals in Australia each year, FACT.
But that is awesome. I love nature and while that's a BIG CATCH for a spider, its Survival of the Fittest. You survive and evolve or you die.

The "Monster Quest" show on History channel just did an episode on monster spiders. It was pretty good but they couldnt find a big spider alive to show. They were looking for ones that could eat a small child though.

Brings back memories of the Gulf. On watch at night in a OP, we often heard camel spiders eating small rodents (bones crunching). Pretty creepy to watch one having a midnight snack through a pair of NODs.

Funny thing is they dont range far from where they nest apparently. I was staying in a national park in Malaysia called Taman Negara a few years ago with my kids and we went on a guided insect walk at night. An there was a bird eating spider in this tree that was as big as a dinner plate and the guide new exactly where he was and said that he basically just hunted in that general area. Just as an aside, this place has the highest tree top walk in the world. Farking mind blowing !!! http://www.taman-negara.com/
