its a nickname. My first name starts with a "k," so people started spelling it "kaptain" instead of "captain."

OK so I was in the same boat, but I was divorced with two young kids of my own. My GF has a boy who was three. Her ex refused to pay her anything as he was pretending to not be working. It wasnt that big a deal with regards to the money thing so we got together. That was 17 years ago, my step son is now 21. I think its more to do with how you feel about her and if you really see a long term relationship there. If you take the ex out of the equation, how do you feel about her ?

Take the ex's history out and my opinion on how she handles the situation and there's no issue.I'm just gonna stay out of it.
