    Never relax your hair

So i get this idea to have straight hair. I have wavy long (shoulder) hair. Decide it would look good straight.
Man it is not worth it. I burned my scalp in certain areas. Daym it really burn.
it looks good but so not worth it.

Tis a little fruity my friend. Im as much for a man keeping up on his appearance as the next guy, but you start messing with the natural structure of your hair and you cross the line. Thats what the burning is, its punishment from the man gods.

what did you expect bro, lol, chemical hair straighteners use sodium hydroxide, which is one of the strong bases and causes really bad skin irritation and burning on contact, lol

Tanning doesn't make you orange it's the tanning creams that do that.

If you straighten your hair frequently, it will burn little by little and get thinner (volume wise)... then you'll have to cut it and let it grow back for the full look. Don't ask me why I know this, my sister has really curly blond hair and was complaining about it. I shave mine.

you're correct, though the hair won't get thinner normally, since hair is constantly growing

though the burning is spot on since the NaOH used in the straightener is also used in products like NAIR and VEET to denature the proteins in the hair, though you need to add propylene glycol for this reaction to take place

I have a cowlick in the front of my hair, the bangs part.

I use to use hair straitening stuff on the cow lick part to tame it down some with shorter hair.

I keep it short still, but it just does not bother me as bad. It's more of a shorter messy look instead of neater anyway.

If you're gonna relax your hair, you need to go to someone who's good at it. Someone who does a lot of it, and can do it quickly, who knows what they're doing, and who won't let the relaxer touch your scalp.

There are different types of relaxers-- sodium hydroxide and potassium hydroxide. If the person relaxing your hair doesn't know when to use each type, and if the person applying the relaxer can't apply it to all of your hair evenly in 5 minutes or less, you gotta find someone else.

If your hair isn't super-curly, you might could use perm solution. Yep, the same stuff they use to put curls in straight hair can be used to take curls out of wavy hair. Some hair professionals know how to do this, most don't.
If you can find one who does, you're probably better off using this stuff, because it's far less damaging to your hair.
