The Doctor Just Laughed At Me

I'm 37 and I've been training for the greater part of 20 years. I've juiced and competed and have done just about everything in between... It's been about 6 years since I've even seen gear and now I'm really starting to struggle at the gym. So I decided to go to the doctor for some "hormonal replacement therapy".

I was totally serious. Test me, I said. I know my test levels have got to be low. I'm not as aggressive as I used to be. Somewhat unmotivated to train like I use to. My girlfriend is FIRE-HOT and I'm not following her around with a permanent erection anymore. TEST ME!!!!

He laughed and said that I was the healthiest person he'd seen in months. "Your 220 lean pounds and in better shape than most men in their 20's. Your arms are bigger than my head. You've got plenty of testosterone in you. Maybe you're just depressed. Have you ever been prescribed zoloft or anything for depression?"

I don't want to be happy! I want to be be big and strong and aggressive! I want to be horny and maybe even a little crazy! What do you have for that?

The bastard relented.... and then prescribed me a gel. A frigg'in gel. For my $90 it cost to see the doctor (not to mention the gel), it should've come with some porn or at least a "hot nurse application specialist".

Next time someone comes up to me at the gym and asks me what I'm on, I'm giving them this worthless piece of paper for a tube of test gel. Put this in your protien shake doc

He should've at least tested you; obviously he's just throwing his ego around like most doctors tend to do. And sexual dysfunction? Taking Zoloft will definitely have you going back for ED treatment.

that kind of behavior makes me want to kill people. you or your insurance company paid for those tests and you have every right to see them. go into the office and ask for (politely demand, that is) a copy of them.

They're insanely expensive. They make you do every kind of blood test in the world, none of which is covered by insurance, then barely prescribe anything.

I guess different places have different policies. I don't remember the specifics but the place I looked into makes you come in 3 times, for various exams and tests before they will prescribe hgh or testosterone .
