    300

Just saw this movie for the first time the other day...so whats the deal with these guys? I know the movie was made in CGI so were all their bodies kinda messed with on the computer to make them all muscular guys with 10 packs??

If not, does anyone have a video or document on what kind of training they put all these actors through? Did they use steroids ? Just real curious, any information would be appreciated.

Likely many of them do juice but why does it matter and of course everything is enhanced in movies.

They may be they might not be. Its not like actors talk freely about steroid use . They would all obviously deny it.

Like SpyWizard said....all they do is find actors who are somewhat in shape...get them a personal trainer/nutrionist and have them cut down on their bodyfat for about 3 months before filming.

Honestly those guys are "huge", they are just really low on their bodyfat and cut up.

It is the illusion of size.

the gym trainers at a gym i used to go to tried it out a few times... and they were telling me how hard it was, the one they were doing was a continuous circuit of exercises that you had to perform everysingle rep of in less than 30 minutes or so and apparently the lead guy in the movie 300 could do it in 12 minutes.

    Pullups
    1 set: 25 reps

    Barbell Deadlift
    1 set: 50 reps

    Push-Ups
    1 set: 50 reps

    24-inch Box Jumps
    1 set: 50 reps

    Hanging Pike
    1 set: 50 reps

    Single-arm Clean-and-Press
    1 set: 50 reps

    Pullups
    1 set: 25 reps

some of it is with decent weight too. well at least decent when you have to do it 50 times.

but i think they were pretty much THAT big. if you see any interviews with gerard butler, he talks about how much work they did, how much they ate, how hard it was. like 4 hours a day just of sword work for some of those scenes. and if you see an interview with him now, he's much smaller and he mentioned being too lazy to keep that big body, so its not like he just cut fat either

Obviously they used makeup and shading to accentuate the muscles and six pack like they do in any movie. But these guys were in close to as good of shape as they appeared to be in.
