Anyone got a cure for a sore throat?

It feels like Im swallowing razor blades and balled up sandpaper.... almost as bad as strep throat. I'm thinking a handle of vodka would do the trick, anyone have any tips?

I went to the doc the other day, first time Ive been sick in 4 years. I had a temp of 101 and was so tired and weak I could barely stay awake. The cocksucker told me it was a virus that was going around and "you gotta get over it". I got discharged close to midnight and they wouldn't put me on quarters because even though I felt like shit I wasn't contagious. I had to take leave, such a load of shit.

Aren't all viruses contagious? My throat didn't start hurting this bad til last night, 3 days after my doctors visit. I'm gonna go back tomorrow to try again, maybe if I'm lucky I can get some ibuprofen for the ****ing pain. That shit is like the "tussin" around here.

good luck with the vodka, it's gonna hurt like hell as your throat is irritated and you are going to be putting something on it that is hypertonic which will pull the little bit of moisture in the irritated area out making it dry and irritated(think baby rash plus chafing)

so if you use the vodka route i would pound that shit quickly so you numb fast, but personally i would go with something warm to soothe or something cold to numb

chewing ice helps too

oh i don't doubt that, but salt water won't help you sleep like vodka does.
