lifting Injuries
What injuries have you sustained in the gym? Did you learn something?
I usually warm up for benching w/ 2 plates on each side. About 3 months back I decided to put a 5 pound plate on w/ the 45's. After I finished the set I slid off a 45 pound plate and the little 5 dropped straight down onto my big toe. Its been black/red for about 3 months now. I learned to always look at the bar before sliding off the weights.
Yesterday I was shrugging w/the 130's. Put the first dumbell back fine. The second one I had my right hand on the bar and my left on the plates while guiding it back onto the rack. The left index finger got smushed as it rolled toward the 120 pouond dumbell. Now I have a black finger to match my toe. Lesson, don't use two hands to put the dumbell back.
Finishing my workouts after these injuries was big fun.

Once i was doing 100kg behind the neck press, and my GF was spotting me. On the last rep it came up kinda slow, and my gf thought i was in trouble so she grabbed it but pulled it towards her. my shoulders hyperexteneded and my left shoulder clicked out and the entire bar came crashing down on my head. Now i only do front press.

shoulder injuries from the initial lift on a shoulder press since you lift the bar behind your head and bring it forward. i dont know about you guys but its a weird angle for me
What did I learn? Always get lifts/spots on shoulder press, incline and decline bench press regardless of weight.

I've pulled muscles a a few times - nothing major.
Oh, when I first started working out I did preacher curls for a loooong time. I couldn't straighen my arms for two weeks afterwards because the tendons were fvcked.

Separated my ac joint and tore all of my ligaments in my left shoulder, maxing out bench press. Got surgery and was out of gym for about a year and lost 27lbs.
I have learned fuk maxing out for no reason and fuc flat bench. Dumbells only.
