Teach me how to fight...
I need to learn out to be able to beat 95% of guys asses out there, only because I feel that the bigger and bigger I continue to get the more and more vulnerable I am to someone kickin my ass.
Backstory: Ok so when I was 17 I started working out, I was 6'0 134lbs in about 4 months I added 40lbs.
Now here is the problem, throughout my life I have never gotten into a fight, I mean I have gotten into confrontations, but never have I gotten hit by someone or got into a physical altercation.
So basically while I am this muscular guy deep down inside I am still that 134lb ***** bitch, so what I worry about is the time when it does come to fight I don't want to get my ass kicked by some 150lb drunk dude and look like a roid head who can't take a punch.
I mean I am not an aggressive dude by nature, generally get along with everyone, but up here at college when you go to bars and clubs its like the bigger and muscular you are the more guys get jealous and challenge you (you know the pricks who think the world revolves around them).
So what should I do? I was thinking about doing MMA, don't get me wrong I am not trying to learn fighting skills than go to a club and kick everyones ass, just want to be able to defend myself
Signed,
Your neighborhood juice head

i know exactly what your talkin about...... in one night at a club near me a guy tried to fight me on the dance floor cuz i had 3 girls around me...... i put my beer down and was ready just incase. Told him if he felt lucky..... go ahead. Some girl shoved him LOL and pushed him off the floor.
then leaving the club (same night) i was walking to my car with my 2 friends and a honda hatchback drives across our path - maybe 40 feet away - and a kid screams "I'll kick you fvckin ass right here *sshole" then he drove off LMAO!
I'm not violent by nature either.... i don't go looking for trouble..... it just seems like guys with beer muscles feel like they have something to prove. I've taken jiu-jitsu..... i've taken muay thai..... trained for years...... i've got NOTHING to proove..... just have a good time. MMA is great to know just in case..... that just my opinion.

Seems to me like you already have the most important skill for defending yourself. You know how to avoid a fight.
If some guy has something to prove, walk away and let him think he scared you off. Who cares. That as@hole will find someone else to fight and will probably be sleeping one off in jail, while you're sleeping in your bed.

I don't think this really happens very often. It just depends at what point you decide to avoid the fight. I've never seen anyone just start swinging w/o any warning. Usually there's a build up. Usually the as@hole swinging has tried to get a few people to take the bait before he finds someone who wants to fight.
Almost every fight is avoidable.

The more I hear from you Immortal the more I see myself.
I was really small and when i got up to the 190's, I felt the same way. I felt like, jesh, if I was 150lbs and got thumped on, I'm the smaller guy. What's my excuse now?
Now though, I'm right about 210 and carry very little body fat, I'm pretty strong for 210 too.
Just based of the local guy at the bar, with no real fight experience, with my size and strength, I'm not really worried ever.
If some drunk wants to pick a fight, I'll ignore him. I'll keep ignoring him, and not allow a crowed to notice either. Eventually, maybe I'll put his drunk ass through a wall and leave.
I think the biggest thing is bro.....you don't want to be the kid in high school that gets "challenged" to a fight behind the tennis court. The whole school shows up, and some little punk gets lucky and catches you.
Fights won't happen like that, unless you are looking for them and think you have something to prove.

These days its not worth getting into. Weapons, guy comming back at you later to get revenge, etc.
A combo of Sambo/Greco Roman and boxing will give you a pretty solid background. MOST people have very little skill, especially off balance. Still, avoiding the confrontation is always best.

Just taking boxing, or anything really, you will be able to take your average joe down rather easily.

did u even read the thread even ur other post made no sense. he is saying he cant bust someones ass as ur stating so wants to learn how incase this ever happens.
yeah i would go take some MMA classes and then once u learn enough just get a heavy bag at ur house and u can just train on ur own. when u get big and u go out to bars like my one post u ****** me on back in the day people pick fights with u. u can only walk away from so much in life. ive been at a bar someone asked me if i thought i was tuff because i was big and i walked away. then i get hit in the back with a beer bottle. should i have kept on walking........ no i kicked his fvcking ass.

Keep your gaurd up at the bar and I can assure you 99% of the people cant fight either. Ive worked through college as a bouncer. Number one punch is the right hand hay maker. Drunks love to try to go for a KO punch. Easy to step aside and then proceed with chokes, armbars, whatever you need to do.
Keeping your gaurd up is paramount, people usually dont go to clubs alone. This means whoever's ass your kicking is gonna be there with "his boys". So you MUST know what is behind you at all times and do things fast.

Probably the easiest style of MMA to learn, and be able to kick ass right away is Okinawan Goju Ryu. I'll tell you some basics, that I live by (I'm a bouncer). Deception is the greatest weapon you could ever use. So always keep your hands up around your chest level to protect yourself, but keeps your fists/palms open so that you look nonthreatening. Never lock your knees, EVER! If you are right footed, you should have your right foot about 1 - 1 1/2 feet behind your left foot, and have both knees slightly bent. This foot placement is for optimal balance, and to protect your knees from someone who knows how to break them. Another rule: "I didn't start the fight, so I don't fight fair." Nothing is off limits. Ears, balls, trachea, etc. "Better to be judged by 12 than carried by 6." I'm assuming that as of now, you don't know any blocking moves, so you need to always strike first, especially if the situation looks very threatening. The greatest thing you can do in a threatening situation is keep your palms in a non-threatening manner at chest level, say "hey I dont want no trouble," and then use your left hand to quickly pop them in the face (do this to yourself, and you will know that this is much more stunning than it sounds). This will buy you about a second or two, which is a lot in a fight, and give you a window to follow up with a kick to the pelvis, kick to the knee (you should raise your foot as high as you can and stomp down just above their kneecap), or punch to the side of the face (never the front, because it is too bloody, and you need to be careful, because the guy you are fighting may have AIDS or hepatitis, etc). Remember that with each kick, knee, or punch, you need to hit as hard as you possibly can, and imagine doing serious damage to them. If you can avoid a fight, then do so by all means, but if you can't, then you need to be fully committed. NEVER punch or kick them, and wait for their reaction. You need to strike, and strike, and strike, until you know they are no longer a threat, or you can get away. I hope this helps. Remember: better to be judged by 12, than carried by 6. "I didn't start the fight, so I'm not fighting fair." Need anything else?

hey guys i dont know where some of you live, but now in days nobody gives warning. unless they really dont want to fight. then thats a easy fix. but i see it all the time people walking up and crack, end of story. either your ready or your not. and i think immortal is looking to be ready. and thats smart, dont wanna be the guy thats laying on floor cause some asshole came and hit you because he was drunk and didnt like they way you look.

exactly when i owned my night club we would always have to watch video just to find out who hit the person. ive seen a guy run up and punch someone in the back of the head. when we caught the guy on another night he said he did it because the guy kept looking at his girl. there are just some crazy people out there

You wanna learn how to fight?
Go to a Martial Arts Academy (MMA or whatever), after you begin to train yourself, a fight will be the farthest thing from your mind.
Only immature fuktards with small man complex think about fighting in the street/clubs/bars etc.***No source checks!!!***

now on to the topic,
Fighting does not make you a man, trying stay out of trouble and being the bigger man to realise that if you do any shit you will get locked away.
So you walk away and think of your future..
