Wow ! I fumbled the ball on this 1 . Never post medicated . The I was sexually abused story never goes well. Trying to say I never got better with therapy. People look at me as normal . When people say negative things about gay in any sense, I get upset. How anyone thought I was attacking DSM is wrong . I saw garythompson post and was out raged . That is why I copied it .

Don't apologize for your developed positions in life... I got it from your post, someone that makes jokes about gays you dislike, as much as someone that makes a joke about minorities.. because you are married to a minority..

My suggestion to you is to relax and "disempower" people, they are just words, by you not "accepting their view" your Bigotry is very evident. You don't have to like they way they see life, and they don't have to like what you like, but they are entitled to their opinions and values..

If you insist on people conforming to your point of view, find a way to convince them, blowing up on them and losing your temper will only get you in trouble with the law, or with a smaller guy that isn't in the gym and simply packs a gun to protect them self..

The analogy I used was to show offensiveness of a gay joke was : Would a racist joke be funny to me if my wife was a minority ?

I figured out the problem here . My thread : What if u needed surgery ? Well I was suppose to take 1 vicodin 10mg every 4 hours. Then plan was to take motrin 800 shortly after. I guess I had been taking vicodin back to back since they look same size pill and bottle.
Not sure if I can plea temporary insanity .Please tell me how to remove this thread . Not sure if I can embarrass my self much worse ?

Dontwanna, I empathize with the issues you're dealing with completely. As a society, we have a ton of potential for improving our sensitivity towards minorities and trauma victims. HOWEVER, there is also something to be said for how you percieve messages. You can't control what other people say. You can only control how you percieve it. There will always be hurtful and/or ignorant people in the world.

Life is difficult and painful for everyone in varying degrees. It's great that you got counselling and faced your injuries. It's good to pick your battles and advocate for better treatment of abuse victims.

This place is just not full of the most compassionate and empathetic people, although some really are. There is also alot of rough, playful bravado that isn't meant to damage. Believe me, I got my share of teasing and insults too.

Relax and try to cope. That's all any of us can do, okay bud? You'll find that gays are actually treated mostly with dignity and acceptance here (from my persepective).
