District 9---- What....the.....f%^&???
How did this movie get an 8.8 on IMDB and an 88% on rotten tomatoes? That was one of the worst movies I've ever seen.

I usually enjoy these movies. Fiction with a political message!
District 9 looks promising.

Well don't let my opinion stop you from seeing it. Obviously I'm in the minority in my thinking, but it's beyond me why that is. Tons of holes in a mediocre story and a dash of bad acting. The special effects and computer generated stuff were amazing, but that didn't make up for it IMO.

I agree the first 15mins were slow but overall I really liked it. It was unpredictable and creative. Also I've never seen a movie so blatantly set up a sequel.

I really enjoyed it. It is a very unique movie in the way it is presented.

I did not like it either!!!!!
The previews I don't feel had a direct reflection on the movie, any action that was in the movie, was a preview, and equally as long.
Very little closure I felt in the movie, like it ended at the climax of the film.
Some people may like being left with a linger, but I like to see the plot finished.

I thought the movie was good. Very original.

You guys are crazy.....I thought this movie was very original and refreshing. It gave a different take on what would happen if aliens came to earth. Maybe it wouldn't be all great and maybe it wouldn't be a big war.....I thought this was very ********** and a good movie.

Are you ****ing joking me? That movie sucked balls, a total shit fest in terms of suckage. It was barely laughable and the shit that was funny wasn't even LOL funny, but chuckle funny.
With the actors they had, should have been alot better, but pardon me you also probably think Carlos Mencia is funny too.
But District 9 was good, damn good, could have used more action, but I liked how they gave an almost human feel to the alien characters.

I saw the movie and loved it. The sociological and political metaphores were completely accurate. Psychologically, all of the human races bonded together to repress these aliens who looked even less like them, which is how human nature works until they are educated past that.
They broke alot of Space Alien lands on Earth stereo types to make this story. Great special effects, I didn't find the beginning slow at all. There was so much going on (implied) that would keep someone guessing and predicting.

No it will be District 10, they gave that away at the end of the movie when they moved all the aliens to their new location, District 10...

Idk what the hell District 10 is going to be about?
The aliens causing a war?
-

I just finished watching it and thought it was good except for the blatant racist attitudes toward the aliens.

Ya, I expected better from the trailer I saw. It was somewhere between tolerable and OK. If it didn't have the good special effects, I'd probably have asked for my $$$ back. I should have gone to watch some male strippers.
The latest Star Trek movie was surprisingly good, though. Both Spocks were way too emotional, IMHO. But the young McCoy they found was awesome.
