Lil Wayne pleads guilty to gun possession, faces one-year prison sentence

Lil Wayne entered a guilty plea to felony gun possession in an NYC courthouse this morning, MTV News reports. The rapper will likely be sentenced to one year in prison under the terms of his plea deal. He would have faced up to three and a half years behind bars if convicted.

The gun charges stemmed from a July 2007 incident in which police pulled over Wayne’s tour bus after a concert. (I was there in the audience earlier that night — it was an unforgettable show.) They found a loaded .40 caliber semi-automatic pistol. While Wayne initially pleaded not guilty, the situation changed this month when prosecutors said they had DNA evidence linking him to the weapon.

There’s no word yet on how this will affect Lil Wayne’s music plans, but it’s hard to see this as anything but a major roadblock to promoting his next album, Rebirth, which is still awaiting release after months of delays. Share your thoughts on his legal troubles below.

He had to beat the shit out of every single roomate he was with until he was declared unable to live with a roomate and trasfered to solitary confinament.
He's doing well there. But there is no yard, no activitie sno nothing. 1 hours a day of walking in a 10x3 metres long caged field. He does not complain though.

I will do the same. I would not share my time and space with the sucmbags that crowd the jails.

tour buses always get searched...and his bus is a mess..

he never has real security, just buddy guards.. real security and a real road manager would have made sure that they had licensed people for the guns on the bus..

He will not serve 1 year though.

He will serve 30-90 days, if any time at all. The rest of the time will be held over his head and he will be placed on probation (not parole).

He won't be in a prison either, he'll be in a county jail. Sentences over 1 year, go to prison, because you can only do 365 days in county jails.


And Ruhl, Haz, I've been to jail, not everyone there is a scum bag trying to take your man hood and obsessed with trying to pry his way into your rear end. In fact, it's rather rare.

Most people in jail can relate with other people there, it's a low point in most people's life, and I found most people to be quite supportive and honestly way more respectful that most roommates I've had.

I did a couple days in the bootie house and it's no joke, I don't care what you say. Maybe they're you're kinda people or something but I didn't like it one little bit. Prision is fuct up man, I leared a lot about the system and why people keep ending up back in. It was an eye opening experience.

All I did was get sucker punched in a bar and hit the guy back. But, his face broke. Since he needed plates in his face and stuff the court didn't like me very much. Plus I got some bad legal advise. He talked to the police first, I figured it was best to leave since his face looked like MR. Potatoe head. I'm not the type to end up in there. And yes my butthole is still virgin, I wouldn't even go near the showers. I'd rather be dirty with BO then penis in my corn hole.

It was a prision where they transfer you out after so long but a real prision none the less. I was in with bank robbers and murderes, computer fraud, and some people who were just in for DUI or something supid. You could tell by the look on the faces of the guys in the neon jump suits they just had bad intentions on their mind.

Maybe you were just put in the worse cage in the area, or were really uncomfortable and paranoid. One to many episodes of OZ?

But from my experience, it's nothing like that....

I did 6 months and I never had any problems. I was in with MDOC inmates that were on there way to bigger prisons, being transferred and most of the inmates had been in the system for the majority of their adult life.

The only people who were really ever ridiculed were CSC (criminal sexual conduct) inmates. Most of them always tried to hide the charge, but generally, you always find out.

If you are going to jail, or prison, it's better to be a stand up man in court, do some extra time and don't snitch. Bite your tongue to the prosecutor, and don't crack under the pressure of the system. When you get to jail, you'll gain more respect.

yeh you find ways to entertain....we only had one channel on t.v. (pbs) i was stoked when like a good nature show would some on sharks or something...lol
but i read my ass off...the only place i've ever read much...i enjoy reading but thats the only time i have read extensively
i lost weight...the 3 meals you mentioned added up to like 1100 to 1200 calories and commisary doesnt kick in for a while so had to live on that i was a hungry mf...when i got commisary i traded shit(cheap) food like cookies for their other main meal food
