    I know. That post that I made was about jdawgs post about his arm feeling dead. I kind of got off topic. I've only experienced sleep paralysis once and that was just a few months ago.

    Ive had it many times too. its quite a terrifying experience. I wonder if it had something to do with chemical imbalance, or perhaps something metaphysical like psychic projection(perhaps from someone else), or perhaps they're were demons hovering above my bed. whatever it is it feels really draining.
    The last time it happened I tried something different. i commanded my mind to banish it. I kept on saying to myself.. banish and begone. I have also forced myself to get up, turned on the light, and walked around a bit.

    Maybe aliens are trying to abduct you psychically.

    Yeh the whole thing is called "old hags syndrome", the name came from the feeling of an old hag sitting on your chest. Its pretty common , i've had it happen to me quite a few times but i think i was still asleep because when im really awake i can move prefectly, even though it seems i am lying in my bed.

    When i looked it up on wikipedia i noticed it has lots of folklore revolved around it.

    Possible Causes.

    * Sleeping in a face upwards or supine position
    * Irregular sleeping schedules; naps, sleeping in, sleep deprivation
    * Increased stress
    * Sudden environmental/lifestyle changes
    * A lucid dream that immediately precedes the episode.
