Exclamation How To Get Along With Fellow Members On The Forum

This is a brief tutorial on how to get along with fellow members on the best board on the internet, Here!

First let me say that by no means am I an expert on human relations. However in the 4 years I have been here I have had very few if any fights with anyone in the open forum.

    1. Act Like An Adult

This should really not be a problem considering that all new members must be 18 years of age or older. For some reason though it seems some of our members regress to hot tempered irrational teenagers at times. Hopefully that is not you...

    2. Respect Others Opinions and Points of View

This is called a discussion board for a reason. We are all here to learn and discuss things that we would like to learn about. Everyone has a different knowledge set in life. Just because someone has what you might consider a dumb question, they may equally think something you ask down the road is dumb. Remember being ignorant of a subject does not make one stupid. It merely means that they have a lack of knowledge on the matter.

    3. Disagree Respectfully

This simply means that if you do not agree with someone, do not try to make an ass out of them for it. Disagree respectfully and calmly present your argument in a simple point/counter point type discussion.

Example of how not to disagree.

O.P. Wow, I think Michael Bay is the greatest director in the whole wide world! Avatar Ruled!!!

Reply: What a f-ing idiot, your so stupid! Did you not see how bad he F-d up Transformers II.

    Example of how to disagree.

O.P. Wow, I think Michael Bay is the greatest director in the whole wide world! Avatar Ruled!!!

Reply: While I found Avatar visually stunning and I like the overall theme of the movie. I can not help but remember how badly Michael Bay ruined Transformers II. I mean one has to really try hard to mess up a movie about Transforming Alien Robots. That plot in of itself should have made the movie uber kickass. Just my opinion though.

    4. Its The Internet No Need To Get Mad.

If someone says something that you take offense to, remember ITS THE INTERNET. Maybe the sarcasm didnt come through the text, or maybe you didnt get the joke. Do one of two things, respectfully ask the person to explain their comment or Two ignore it all together. If the person wants to pick a fight then just ignore them. People talk about not being disrespected this and no body disrespects me that. Chances are 99.99% you will never meet the person in real life and what does it matter anyway. If you start fighting on the open forum YOU will look like an idiot. If you must continue with it and get your valuable respect, take it to PM's and resolve the issue like adults.

    Again with the adult thing

    5. Follow the Board Rules

If one is following the board rules there is really no reason that anyone should ever get into an internet pissing contest. There is a strict no flaming policy on the board and there really is never a time in the open forum that someone should flame another. Remember Jokes are Jokes until they are not funny so pick and choose who you play board grab ass with. I myself am guilty of joking around a little to much at times.

    6.No Whoring Serious Threads

There are times for jokes or funny pictures or pictures of hot babes. It is really a matter of judgment. But as a general rule if someone has a serious thread going with a good discussion, please refrain from posting up pictures that are not within the context of the thread. This often angers the O.P. of the thread and can derail a discussion.

    7. Dealing With Trolls

Trolls are here for one reason. TO PISS PEOPLE OFF!
Solution, dont take the baited trap they are laying for you, simple as that.

    8. When In Doubt Take The High Road

My Dad told me a long time ago if I didnt know how to deal with a certain person or situation to always take the High Road. This should be self explanatory.

To conclude, to get along on this board all you have to do is act like a civilized adult. All the points I made above can be easily followed if one remembers to at like a rational adult and not a irrational emotional child.

    Regards,

    MS.

Newbs can do their part as well. we have educational threads and a search function for a reason. also do not give advice if you are not sure. you can state your opinion but make sure it is known that that is your opinion. people get tired of answering the same question day in and day out as well as seeing dangerous advice handed out. i think thats why some people get so uptight.

I want to add...It also helps to get along if you have off board sexual relations like MuscleScience and myself have with each other... Lol, just kidding buddy...

This is a long overdue post and MS brings up great points. I remember when a guy kept making personal attacks against me and was lobbying for me to be banned simply because he disagreed with my political opinions and thought I was passive aggressive. I think he ended up getting suspended or something. There are definitely right and wrong ways to disagree with someones opinions.

Here is the biggest reason for board arguments; you have one select group who has actually done what they're talking about, and you have another select group who only knows what they've read. Just because somebody isn't part of the general consensus does not mean they dont know their shit. For example, I could post a proposed cycle with no test in it, just primo and winstrol , and I would have 20 people jumping all over it saying "wheres the test?" Well if they've never used primo before then they wouldn't know that primo reacts very much like test in certain regards. General consensus vs. what works for me. Doesn't mean I'm wrong, doesn't mean they're wrong.

It is never easy to be the bigger person, especially when emotions are running wild. We are not machines and we all make mistakes and have errors in judgment. Like most things in life it simply takes practice. Often times the high road is the one that a person travels the least.

I am reminded of Robert Frost, since we are on the subjects of roads...

“ Two roads diverged in a wood, and I —

I took the one less traveled by,

And that has made all the difference.”
