i got the car for 2k and i put about 6k into it
doing 90% of the work myself saved lots of money but when it came to the inside of the car i had someone else do it so it cost me 2.2k
yea the inside of the car was based on the fact i love creamsicles so i set it up to what i think it would look like

thats a fast car no doubt plus its easy to make them fast with little effort
stock its a 1/4mile car at 4.7 seconds 0-60
non stock u can reach 200 with lots of cash
stock i got my car to pull 4.1 0-60 with just a lil bit of work
as far as beating a non stock im pretty sure it can be done seeings how on the stock side of things your max speed is 110 mine stock is 140
lol a race would be the only way to see

I was a mustang driver......
Here's the thing..... most mustang drivers (that I know.... and i know A LOT) take issue with "ricers"- If your car is pulling 17 seconds in the 1/4 and your making the thing look like a drag car and throw a huge spoiler on the back (which you will never be able to go fast enough to justify it anyways) - then you're a ricer.
If your car has work done..... and it's fast..... there's no getting around it.... it's fast! They respect that.....
In my experience..... a lot of foreign car owners like yourself (not saying your one of the ricers at all..... just the genre) claim that if a mustang owner pulled 2 plugs they'd win..... or if their cars are turbo'd to 16lbs of boost and they win they brag like no other..... It then becomes not fair to them once again when mustang released a supercharged cobra.....
My take on it..... any car can be fast with enough money. Any car that has balls is OK in my eyes.....

Sorry bro its rice.
Should have saved your money and bought a 4g63 equipped 2nd gen eclipse/talon.
The 420a motors are strong running motors but nothing compared to the potential of the DOHC 4G63.

wow if you have a car that pulls 17s in a 1/4 dont race your going to lose your tittle for real tho unless u can pull 14s and lower dont race
but yea any car can be made fast just about and some people would never think could be fast wins alot of cash
supercharged mustangs are fast but not to my car its 0-60 is 4.6 and mine is 4.1
i would race any non nitrous car for fun

I looked up specs on all the eclipses, and none pulled anywhere near 4.6 stock. got any dyno slips or drag slips? what's the horsepower, torque, and 1/4 mile e.t. and speed?
-
01-31-2010, 04:27 PM #26
This is what im saying. The fastest "stock" eclipse they made in 1996 was the gsx which was turbo charged. It went 0-60 in 6.8. It would take a hell of alot of work to get an eclipse to do 0-60 in 4.1 and if you did it would do better than a 14 in the quarter mile. Im just asking what you did to the motor because if its runnin those times its nowhere near stock.

when I first read the titel to this thread I thought it said "my new breasts"
Nice car. I used to be into the tuner cars but I was all show no go. Now I like cars that have a lot of room and ride like a dream. It got old trying to dodge every little pebble in the street lol.

01-31-2010, 06:47 PM #34
yea speed bumps suck ass and steep driveways also
i was like most people putting down these car till i drove my brothers 2 stage nitrous version of my car and was in love but ill never put nitrous into my car i really dont need it im already to fast

Do I have to put a ricer in their place?
Didn't answer my questions. You rebuilt the 420a?
New pistons? Please........
Crank? What crank are you using?
Thats a built motor? ^
So you run no rods, bearings.....
No fuel compensation
No engine management
And I'm sorry, I don't care what you say your car does not do 4.1 0-60 specially since it's FWD.

GSX ?
not a fan of foreign cars really (former '89 5.0 and 98 LS1 Trans AM owner) but all wheel drive turbo mitsu's earn a little respect. I considered purchasing one for a sleeper. removing the GSX badge and using all go fast parts (turbo upgrade / waste gate / blah blah etc) and keeping the stock exhaust / body work.
Ran it at the track?

02-02-2010, 01:09 AM #37
lol ok you got me my 0-60 is 30.8 seconds it burns oil and smokes when i start it and theres a knocking sound no breaks and its up on blocks cause some brothers jacked my rims
but on the real note its awd not fwd
yes its a gsx
no i havent had it on the track
the test were at my brothers shop
-
02-02-2010, 02:35 PM #38
Thats cool man.
Hows the turbo lag on the 28 ? how many lbs's are you running? Any plans for the trans / drive train? From what I understand thats the weak part in those cars.
Take that sucker to the track and get some numbers.

I still prefer my Chevy Silverado 2500HD.. got all the get up and go I need.. and if need be, lol.. I can MONSTER TRUCK Those things and laugh all day... HAHAHAHA!!
But...
On the flipside.. it's pretty sick bro.. i don't like foreign cars but for some reason I always had an eye on The Eclipse GSX...
My first CAR was actually a '91 Eagle Taslon TSi .. and she was a fast lil beeotch !! I didn't do much to it(not as much as you did).. but haha.. I ran Nitrous.. until I shredded the tranny and cracked the Block.. Oh well.. it was a fun summer.. definitely pulled in a lot of ass in my 17th year of life..
