dont know where to ask this

im calling my dr on monday but cant wait.

I was in a car accident in Nov and a week later had a ton of pain in my neck and left shoulder and numbness down my left arm.

At the hospital they did x-rays of shoulder and neck and found nothing.

My dr did cortisone shots in my back and shoulder. I had an MRI of my neck and they found an herniated disc and said it pushing on nerves that would control my left arm that is why i have the numbness.

I noticed yesterday in the mirror it looks like my rear left delt is gone. It actually indents there. If it was torn would they have seen it on the x-ray? or could it had atrophied that much from nerve damage?

Good lord, the doctors only gave you a cortisone shot. They didnt want to do surgery or PT?

Yes nerve damage can lead to muscle atrophy, In effect the control system of the muscle is impaired or cut off. You need to get to a neurologist as soon as you can.

Insurance with car accidents suck. They always want to deny, deny, deny...
Sorry to hear about your problem. That's pretty scary. I hope you get it worked out quick and dont forget to add it to your pain and suffering. There is no way to ever get the time back you lost now but dont give up.

Ive been there due to back surgery. I lost like 30 lbs. Legs went from always looking good even without working out to chicken legs. Sucked.

Let us know what you find out.
