What's you view on Ireland?

I don't understand why so many americans claim they're irish.

there's just as much english, scottish, german, french descendants in the US but they're not always jumping around yelling about it, I think it's just become cool somehow to jump on the "i'm irish" bandwagon

Absolutely wrong..

When humans first walked on this earth in 1963 (in Manchester), some went to America and others to others parts of the world. Thus everyone is truly English.

Except the French, they came from lucifer's bottom...

Mate with stuff like that its got fvck all to do with Ireland and everything to do with America. You'll get these guys say "look at me, im Irish, ive got my own special day! I've got history and culture and a huge gang! All these things make me different from you!" It's the same with people born in America that have Italian, Latino, African, Korean, Chinese or Japanese heritage and not forgetting the all time famous line:

"Im one 18th cherokee".

Is that right? Cause you sound like an American to me.

As for Ireland, i've never been but my best mate is from Dublin so it can't be bad!

If your great great grandmother was irish..... you are not. If you or one of your parents is 100% Irish..... you have the right to claim yourself 50% irish. However..... if you were not born there..... you're still american LOL - maybe irish american?

I'm born in Canada but have Irish citizenship and an Irish passport.... What does that make me?? Yes I do have Canadian citizenship as well.

I do however agree with you.... if you are like 6th generation canadian/american you are no longer irish/french/english/russian its has been bread out of the blood.... sorry to tell you.

I only call myself 1/2 belgian..... mother is 100% with citizenship. My father is like a mix of irish, scottish, french...... I don't even include it in my "stats" lol
