i find shrugs tend to help build the outer portion of the quadriceps. if you shrug like i do and use your whole body to move the weight, only while sweating profusely and grunting. i have to make sure people watch me lift copious amounts of weight.

People taking out the heavy dumbells with the actual dumbells they are going to use and in case someone comes in they say they were supersetting
