Your squat is god awful!!! Too much emphasis on the bench brotha. Being tall isn't an excuse. I'm 6'4 and squat 800. Most of the world's biggest squatters are around the 6'2.

    Bench 585
    Dead seven hundred eighty
    Clean 375
    Overhead press (straight bar) 345
    Log Press 330lbs

    BTW, I'm a fatty 6'4, 300lbs.

Not trying to flame you, but its obvious you've fallen into the bodybuilder mentality (I'M NOT FLAMING BODYBUILDERS) of concentrating way too much on upper body work trying to look good. As a former professional football player, I learned early that the bench press doesn't mean sh*t on the field. Squats are the most important lift for any athlete and if you're wanting to gain some serious mass, heavy squats are where it's at Your dead is quite weak too and that comes from lack of leg strength. Guys with huge squats (real squats, not suited) usually have great deads as well. Each will help the other.

If you're going to a free agent combine, I would suggest you work your cleans, squats (both front and back), and speed, speed, speed. Scouts are more impressed with explosive athletes rather than absolute strong guys.

To say his squat is "god awful" is a mistake.

Numbers mean just about nothing. I can deadlift like a mofo but when it comes to benching my numbers suck. Certain people are better at certain movements.

I completely agree for some reason I can only dead and squat 280lb's and I am only 21 will be 22 in two weeks.

I dunno what it is but I can't seem to get anymore even though I can lat pull 240lb's and do close grip at 200lb's it's made. I just have a really strong lats.

Whereas my buddy has a year on me and he can dead 350lb's yet he is the same weight and size as me and we both bench the same etc.

But man some work on getting to that size is such a short period of time I'd be well happy to be at that size at your age.

Well, To be honest, if i hadnt of been tested for the last 4 years i prob would have and dont see anything wrong with it. But i def. think you need a solid base before you ever start. I dont think 22 is too young but when someone comes on and their 22 at 170 then wtf?

Your right, it is bad and thats why i'm working my ass off on gaining leg strength. Not to make excuses, but in the last 5 years i've broken my pubic and pelvic bone, torn ligaments in my right toe (turf toe), fractured my liz-frank joint ( right foot) and tore ligaments in my right ankle. Didnt squat once from april 08- jan 2010 so i'm doing my best to make up for it now. I dont really have a bodybuilder mentality or powerlifter mentality right now bc bench/squat strength doesnt mean shit when someone lines up across from me on the field. I just respect the dedication it takes to be a bodybuilder and prob. do focus more on upper body aesthetic wise like anyone else in this forum does other than 300lb powerlifters. Your stats are incredible though and i wouldnt care about what my upper body looked like if i could get under 800lbs

Numbers mean a lot if that's your aim. And as football player, those numbers do matter. Especially when you're a free agent trying to land a contract. Guys get looks all the time based on numbers. That's what gets them in the door.

Damn, you've suffered a lot of injuries brotha. But I respect that you keep trying at your dream. Keep it up. And like I said, speed and power are essential at the pro level. So keep focusing on the lower body strength. I didn't squat 800 overnight. I took me years and years. Good luck and keep trying. With your natural strength you should be on your way in no time.

Lol, wow youve added a hell of a lot of size! My high school coach was an all-sec defensive end at 185 in the 70's!

My coach was a dick..... I was a running back my whole life - up until junior year. I even ran as a half-back on the varsity team some games as a sophomore and broke tackles left and right. I skipped the summer workouts and low and behold.... he moved me to tight end - with no experience.....

I have gained 35 lbs of muscle naturally in less than a year, just by learning to eat like a ****ing animal. I'm only 22 and most people will tell you that it's impossible to gain that much muscle in that time, but they are pussies.

OP, you're huge, and strong, good for you.
