The Perfect Hard Boiled Egg
It has come to my attention that, for many people, boiling the perfect hard boiled egg is a daily challenge which leads to frustration as well as wasted egg. As you all know, if an egg is not boiled right, the shell and skin can stick to the egg and, when attempting to peel the shell, valuable pieces of egg come with it, often resulting in lost perfectly good protien.
Here's what you do:
- Luke warm water in a pot
- place your eggs ever so gently in the pot, place on burner on high setting
- as soon as the water starts to boil, cover the pot and turn the burner down to the lowest setting
- as soon as 10 minutes later, your eggs have cooked throughout and are ready to be peeled, however you may leave your eggs on for much longer without having to worry about over cooking them. Shell should "fall" off the egg.
- peel eggs
- eat eggs
- enjoy
Hope this comes in handy for some of you who are boiling the sh*t out of your eggs for a straight 10 mins or more.
Peace,
IG

As long as her eggs are still unfertilized in the morning, I can be happy.

I usually boil my eggs for the week all at once so i do 3 doz at a time. I follow alton browns method (he's the food network geek guy, love how it breaks cooking down into science lol) put eggs in water (about 3" over the top of the eggs) let it come to a rapid boil, immediately remove from heat let stand for 20min. Done. I know it's not the norm but it works perfectly. give it a try.

Yeah if you don't put enough water in the pot sometimes they'll be soft boiled which is fine with me too except for the fact i boil a weeks worth at once and, as much as i love my eggs, cold soft boiled eggs are really unappetizing. lol
