Is there that much of a difference between ninja's, cbr's, and gsxr's all at the 600 level?
That 07 ninja for 2500 seems like a pretty good deal.

they all feel different and really depends on your preference.

The cbr is a bit more user friendly, it's suspension is more forgiving when compared to the others. The 636 ninja has a bit more torque than the rest and the suspension and handling could be too much for a new rider. The R6 is a very nimble bike, I own the 2003 and it fits me like running shoes. Great brakes and handling and a smooth power band. I can't speak about GXR however my friends swear by it.

as for the newer 600's, it's doubtful a newer rider will recognize much difference, they are all great bikes. once you get some seat miles in and start to learn the bike's limits you will begin to feel the differences each has to offer, but I doubt you would be disappointed with any of them. I've ridden sportbikes since they came out, and I've known my share of the guys who swore by one brand over the other. in my opinion the truth is the rider will make a larger difference than the brand of bike provided they are all in the same class. many guys on a newer 600 or litre bike think they are riding the bike to it's full capability, but I'm willing to bet most aren't. I've got 30 grand sunk into one of my R1's, but any decent rider on a stock 600 would eat my lunch on a tight track, my days of wanting to scrape pegs are behind me, I just enjoy fixing them up.

Thanks for the replies.
Im going to follow up on the 07 ninja for $2500. Does that seem like a good bike for the price?

Is it an 05 CBR F4i or RR ? that will make somewhat of a difference.
The 08+ CBR's are the newest / best. Frankly I think you should try to find an 01-03 F4i
'02 ish range R6's had a transmission problem or clutch problem ? One of the two I believe that plagues a lot of them.

It's this one?
http://houston.craigslist.org/mcy/1784032831.html
How tall are you? It has an after market lowering kit the ad says - Frankly I don't think you should screw around with ride heights it throws the dynamic of the bike off. If its an adjustable lowering kit then you could take it back to stock height.

That one seems very low. If its legit i'd jump all over that - Make sure the guy has a clean title in hand.
obviously if you can bring someone with you who knows what they are looking at, then that would be great.
