Well if in the end you have to get out, and end up in your car, there are a few things you can do to get by.
To begin with, park up in a 24 hr wal-mart parking lot. People do it with RV's. At least when you want to go to a rest room, you just walk in the store and use theirs. Also, keeping a few water bottles on hand, you can refill them using their faucets. In the beginning, you'll feel safer sleeping in your car there as it's lit, and there's other people. It doesn't matter who you are, finding yourself alone and homeless can make you anxious. You are going to want to be around where people are. These parking lots are ideal, and when you want the social interaction and human contact, you just walk into the store and everything will seem normal for a while. Later, when you get used to living this way, you can move onto freeway rest areas to stay at night.
If you keep working. keep a membership at a gym, you can wash there in their showers.
If you can trade in your car for a truck, or van, you can eventually get a camper for the truck for more sleeping space. An ideal would be to eventually get your hands on an RV. These can be purchased relatively cheaply, and are comfortable to live in.
Look on craigslist for camping stoves, and you can get the bottles of gas from walmart. This will help to boil water for coffee, and cook eggs, meats, etc. You can park up in a local camping area for doing your cooking...as walmart may get pissed off at you setting up a stove and cooking bacon in their parking lot!! Take a few saucepans, and a frying pan/griddle from home.
Take your bedding from home, or get a sleeping blanket from walmart.
To stop suspicion, locate where the walmarts are, and rotate parking in their parking lots throughout the week.
Koa camp grounds, and throughout towns there are launderets, for washing clothes.
State owned camp grounds/RV parks have washing areas and rest rooms. You can go there to wash your plates and cups and cook ware without anyone knowing you are not staying there.
It may seem like a real daunting experience being homeless, but you can survive and live fairly well if you can adapt. Having a car/truck, or even better an RV, and able to park up in a stores parking lot, will give you access to supplies, restrooms, showers, and a place to walk around instead of sitting alone in your vehicle all the time. You can run a computer from a car. There's free Wi Fi in hotels, and various coffee places and stores. Your life can continue much in the same way, and you'll save a fortune month to month if you still work and not have to pay a mortgage or rent. You'll be able to save up pretty fast, and get back on your feet again. Having access to wi-fi will help you remain in contact with the outside world. Using this you'll be able to search the internet for locations of 24hr stores, and freeway rest areas. You'll also be able to search classifieds for items you want, and if eventually you save up some cash, find housing or an RV, and places to stay at reasonable monthly rates.
I've thought about all this myself, just in case I ever found myself living on my own with no house.
It's a form of urban survival. As long as you have the vehicle...that's a must. Instead of having to hunt for food and find clean water, it's all available close at hand in the local stores. Out in the wilds, you can take a dump anywhere, obviously you can't in a city, but the restrooms are in stores too. therefore, find the 24hr stores, and park up for the night...everything you'd want is right there.
Whenever you get some cash together, and want to give yourself a break and experience a little luxury for the night, stop in a motel, or cheap hotel. this will give you a chance to relax, and soak in a bath, clean up properly and sleep on a decent bed.
The reason why I state get a van or truck, is because you can't be seen sleeping in the camper area of the truck. People would just think the vehicle is parked up and you're shopping in the store.
If in the end you decide to not pursue finding housing, and opt for living in an RV, you can find a cheap acre of land to buy, to park your RV on.
If parking up in the stores eventually becomes a problem, all along freeways and major roads are rest areas to stop. These have restrooms and some have showers. You can park up in these for as long as you want as long as your car it registered and tagged! They also have benches so you could set up your camping stove and cook your food. They also have trash bins for getting rid of your trash in your car. Best of all, they're free.
If you don't have any steady income, try and apply for assistance. You can get post boxes for mail and receiving stuff. you'll need somewhere to receive mail when applying for work. If you have no rent, and no mortgage, you don't need to earn much, just enough for gas, food and gym. Fu#k it, work at Mcdonalds it'll still be enough when you have no bills to pay! The main thing is to get some form of income. Psychologically, you'll feel much better about being homeless when you're able to steadily save some cash. You don't have to give up eating well, as long as you have your vehicle, you can get to work, store your stuff, and sleep.
Don't get rid of your vehicle!
If you need food, you can go to food banks, and local churches. But try to straight away find ANY job...just to get that income, you can move onto better things later. Even if you get a mower and mow peoples lawns for 10 bucks each, it'll be something. Go door to door in mobile home parks, etc. It's cash in hand, and that means gas and food.
Good luck.Last edited by rbg; 07-31-2010 at 02:42 AM.

here is my 2 cents;
options,
1. chop this bitch up into little pieces and feed her to the animals
2. file a restraining order on her ass, make her leave
3. get a ski mask and start robbing, got to eat. like Rick Ross says, when ur low on funds its time to load up guns
4. buy a bullet and rent a gun, goodbye cruel world....
5. my favorite, drive the fvken car right thru the front of the house, but be sure to report it stollen
either way, i really hope all works out, i really dont know u around here but we are all brothers, keep ur head up and make sure u stay in touch on here...

Ok, well, the wife in now acting unusually nice. I am not going to get cought unprepared though. I am already on craigslist, looking to trade my car for something bigger (I had a lifted f250 diesel that I just traded for a limited edition miata for her to drive, but fvck that, I am going to trade that thing).
I am also already talking to the guy who owns the gym (always been real nice to me). He says its cool if I park in the parking lot for an extended period of time. The gym does also have showers, etc.
I also just went shopping and loaded up on crackers, wheat bread, tortilla chips, canned food, etc.
Hopefully this works out to where I don't have to move out, but I am still bracing for the possibility that i might have to.
Thanks for all your help and advice guys. I really do appreciate it. For some reason right now the only thought that keeps going through my head is "Why the fvck are there so many new members joining, just so they can wine and cry that this site is full of assholes that only want to judge and not help"
I don't think i have ever had a problem with anyone on here. You guys have always been very entertaining, very friendly, quite a few of you are incredibly, jaw dropping smart, etc.
Again, thanks for everything.
