Anyone ever lived out of their car?
Anyone ever been homeless? Like tried to live out of their car?
Me and my wife are talking about divorce, but long story short, if she kicks me out in a day our two, I have no money, and no place to go, so i am trying to make plans. Like, what type of cheap food i can buy in bulk, where i can park my car without being harrassed by cops, etc.
You guys can make jokes, i don't mind. But does anyone have any experience to speak of?

I've been real close but thankfully I have a lot of caring friends. I'm sure there are shelters in your area. Anything you can buy in bulk and prepare in your car is gonna be packed full of sodium.

Not too worried about good nutrition right now. I'm thinking of bread, crackers, raisins, peanut butter, powdered milk, apples, oranges, maybe spam, I don't know. Always could keep protein powder, gallons of water, and a shaker cup too.

do you not have any friends that you could crash at?

Yeah. Spam, Vienna sausage, canned tuna, and peanut butter would get you through for a little while. Maybe try to find a bulk lot of military mre's (meal ready to eat) in your area and buy those. Some actually taste pretty good.

Sorry to hear that man. I lived on the streets by myself for about 3 months. Not to make things sound bad, but, I basically had to learn to not eat. My stomach shrunk a lot. Your best bet if you run out of anything is to find soup kitchens, homeless shelters or some Christian donation buildings.
As far as buying in bulk, you can go to a store like Aldis, and just stock up on the generic versions of the *generic versions of food (*Not a typo, really is 3rd to 4th grade material, but its cheap).

I'm pretty familure with MRE's. The only ones you can get here though are 8 bucks a pop, and if you buy in bulk you only save about 10 dollars total.
I don't have any friends these days actually. My highschool buddies Joined the Army when i did, and some of them didn't come back. Others got stationed around the world, others moved out of state. My friends from the Army have a similar story, nobody close to me. My mother is an alcoholic with a drug problem, and financial issues, so I am not even telling her. Me and my father don't speak.
I have thought about my options, I am pretty much stuck with just my car. But I am thinking about selling that for extra cash.
The vienna sausage, tuna, etc are good tips.
Just looking for any insight on things that make make the transition a bit easier.

Btw rest areas/truckstops would be the best place to park and sleep. Some have showers and wifi. I would try to rotate through a few of them. Hopefully if it comes down to you living in the car hopefully it doesn't last long.

i've been homeless, i moved outta my folks place at 16 - i found out the REAL reason my sis was taken away 8yrs before was because my dad was a diddler.
all the court dates wernt for traffic/accident issues like they said at all...so...
with that being said - i came out stronger in the long run. don't let the situation beat you down, keep your head in as best "place" as you can be.
if anything right now, avoid arguments, keep distance, sleep on the couch.
dont aggrivate the situation, keep your nose clean.....
my other suggestion is get any gear/needles outta the house and hidden....
you don't need to drop food quality, but eat food that lasts longer.
white breads/potatoes, cheap lunch meats, pasta, stuff that wont spoil like potato chips (cant believe im suggesting it)..but..... it's cheap and lasts.
like i said though....... keep quiet, tough it out, rest your mind - get some sleep.......
on that note, im done watching Super Speeders 5, and it's 4:33 am. time for bed.

Im really sorry to hear that you could soon find yourself in this situation. When you say you and your wife haver been talking about divorce, has it been conversations or fighting? Ive spent time being homeless and its not something i would wish upon anybody.
Im guessing the house is your wifes? as G4R said your going to have to eat generic food until your situation improves, IMO i would keep the car that way you have a roof over your head and its safer then sleeping rough. Try find a shelter in your local area until things improve
Hope things work out for the better

Do you have a mortgage or do you rent or does she outright own the house? What possessions does she have in her name?
If you are on the lease/mortgage you can't be kicked out. Also, if shes making more money than you - you can get her for alimony......

Technically... at least in PA... if you receive mail/bills/etc to that address in your name. She cant kick you out. She can even call the cops and as long as there is no violence/abuse/illegal happenings... they cant kick you out.
Ive been there.
She would have to get a PFA on you. That would make you leave the premises. So just dont do anything that will cause her to do so.
So go to the library and look up the laws in your state.

Dude...most places have laws protecting people from situations like that. It may be uncomfortable to live with her, but it's probably not as bad as living out of your car. Most likely she cannot legally kick you out if you've been living there and have property in the residence.
If you lived here, she'd have to go to court and get you evicted, which is a very lengthy and drawn out process.
Beyond that, just don't leave. Tell her to go **** herself. If you want I'll call her and tell her for you.

Well, I don't know the laws here, like if she can kick me out or not, but I am in a bad spot anyway. Since she got this house while I was on active duty, the lease and all the bills are in her name. Also, she does make more than me. I actually have no money, kind of because of her. See, when i was on active, I had my checks deposited into a joint account, and while I was gone, she spent all my money, and doesn't seem to have a good explanation of what she spent it on. A few months after i got back, I got a bonus for 10,000. After Taxes, I got about 7,200. I spent all of it on paying off her credit cards. So now I have no steady income, no money saved, and everything is in her name.
As for why the face is blacked out, is because I do not have the person's permission to use the photo. I wanted to show the physique I want to attain, without putting a face on the physique. I am actually surprised so many people seem to think that might be me in my avatar, since I have always rotated avatar pictures of myself, without the face blocked.
A VERY long story short is this. I was on active duty, and she was going out to the bars and ****in around on me. I get home, and the very first weekend I am gone, she cheats again. I find out, big fight, etc. Things haven't been the same, because I just flat out don't trust her at all, and I just don't care anymore. Last night we had a talk (not fighting) and it came out that I don't care about "us" anymore, so she started talking about kicking me out.

^^^I've heard that story played out plenty of times around Fort Bragg. Sorry to hear it...and people wonder why women get murdered.
Anyway, I'm sure there's laws protecting you. I'd check. Call the police department and ask. No way I'd let some twat kick me out of my house, regardless of who's name is on what.

1/2 and 1/2 my friend..... she will have to pay YOU alimony...... you wont be broke and she'll have to pay it until you get remarried if i'm not mistaken LOL
