The Main Difference Between Europe and the USA
Yeah, I know I am an American, and should be talking about all the hotties here, but come on, I am an American, NOT a liar.
I want to move to Europe...
Wow, I guess the picture didn't upload even after trying for the past hour.... FMLLast edited by Skyler; 08-02-2010 at 03:38 PM.

I've lived in Europe before... looks are about the same. What IS different is they're less hung up on nudity... hence all the bikini optional beaches at the lakes etc. Man, could I tell you some stories........ (whew!!!)

All I know is every foreign chick I have ever met has been height/weight proportionate, and usually better than average looking. Not to mention, this German chick I dated for awhile would do anything.... ANYTHING.... A-N-Y-T-H-I-N-G

So how do all of you post big full sized pictures right in your post? The most advice I have recieved was "paste the image between
but what am I supposed to paste from? Like I said, if i go to a website, and see a picture I like, I will right click, then hit "copy"
then I come back here to make a post, and I right click, and there is no "paste" option?

i was born in dublin but raised in California since i was three.. moved back here a few years ago, and have absolutley no intention of ever gonig back to America. Quality of life is a million percent better over here.. much more laid back attitude..
America has the whole "college" thing down a lot better, but when it comes to practicality and living with in your means Europe has the US beat hands down..

Just come to Miami dude...there's hot women every where you go here, plus they are all super vane and superficial, so they get dressed up even if they are just going to the gas station.

Well, the USA might have better teeth (thats what I hear but I don't know) but we have to pay out of pocket for every one of them. Thats right, I just got started on USA health care.
What made me think of this was that here just recently, my moms boyfriend got a bill in the mail from his dentist. He owes like 12,000. See, he had to get alot of work done on his mouth like 3 years ago, and his insurance covered it, then I guess here recently they just "took the money back" for some reason, and now the dentist is sending him the bills.
This is not an isolated incident.
As a matter of fact, I would have to say that I imagine Americans might be tougher on average than europeans (I know this will start trouble, but hear me out).
Due to our lack of health care alone. I mean, from every European I have ever met, it sounds like when something goes wrong, you just get it taken care of without hesitation.
Here in the states though, I have seen first hand people just "deal with" some pretty terrifying injuries and health problems, simply because they don't have health insurance and can't afford to get medical attention. Though from what i have seen, health insurance does you no good, because even if they cover your bill, and don't take the money back, just the Co-Pays alone could bankrupt you.

Thats a myth.. the English used to be known for bad teeth, but that has all been fixed, and some of the older ones still do. But keep in mind they have universal healthcare of here.. so its basically free to see a dentist.. Also keep in mind that almost half of the European Union was formerly part of the Soviet Union, which had good dental plans.
and another thing.. the beer here IS cold..

That picture is a MEGA REPOST......
Regarding healthcare..... A lot of americans don't know how to choose a proper health plan. They either pay too much up front or not enough..... they don't know wtf they are choosing or why. Others are supplied healthcare by their jobs for a smaller fee..... but you're screwed into whatever plan it is they are offering.....

I would say that the very fact that there are so many options to choose with health care, all of which you have to pay for, and none of which ever do exactly what they are supposed to do, and even best case scenerio you are still paying something for your healthcare and then also paying copays all = mega bullsh*t
All the research I have done, along with all the people I have spoken with on the subject (being in the army, I had alot of time to talk to people from countries all over the world) over all it seems that with universal healthcare you get way better care, no co pay (in most cases) and ofcourse you don't have to go out and choose which one you think looks good and buy it, just to find out it doesn't work (much like the subs I bought from best buy).
I mean true, other countries have higher taxes, but then again their taxes actually go to good use. The number of of things that are provided free of cost because of the taxes you pay, the standard of living, the quality of life, etc is all worth the extra taxes.
I can't think of anything that our taxes pay for here in the USA that actually ends up helping anyone. I mean, anything we have that is free of cost are all socialist ideas anyway, like a fire department, mail service, public library, etc that are provided for free.
Yet when we as Americans see other things that would really benefit us, as it does in other countries, our government writes it off as either "evil socialist idea" or "oh you have just heard bad rumors, none of those things work in any other country, they are lying, the USA is the greatest country on earth!"

I don't know about the employment opportunities in Europe, but here in the USA there arn't many. I mean, there were before Bush, but these days the unemployment is crazy high. I mean, I don't know how it varies from state to state, but I am in Indiana, and employment is bad here. Last year, my mother, her boyfriend, my sister and her husband, my other sister, and my best friend were all on unemployment. It actually didn't help that much, because apparently unemployment was so crazy high that the government couldn't afford to pay for the unemployment checks, and if you got a check, it was hardly anything at all, and you only got a check for a couple months, then they would drop you.
I myself have always been a mechanic, then joined the Army, got certified in the Army as a diesel tech, came home, and I am still unemployed.

Taxes in europe are out of control man..... for instance in Belgium when you die.... the government gets 60% of everything you own.
Universal healthcare sounds good but when you take a deeper look at it..... it's not so great. The overall care can be worse..... you can wait longer for treatment.... etc.
I just picked out my health plan..... my employer is contributing to it but so am I. I have small co pays and have a ton of coverage. The area I get whacked is the ER. My ER visits are $500 a pop but up to $1500 for the year. Thats my deductable.... once I hit it..... the rest of the year is "free" so to speak.
Most americans DO NOT shop around for health care. There are a multitude of insurance companies and even more plans within each company. The key to not getting screwed is to review the plans yourself and pick a plan based on your health history. If you have had serious problems in the past and think you might have more..... find a plan with a low deductable. If you're hadly ever sick.... find a plan with higher copays and pay less per month - this way you're covered for serious health issues and don't pay a ton up front.
Universal healthcare wouldn't fly here..... people would abuse the shit out of it..... even more so than the elders already abuse the shit out of medicare.

I get what you are saying, I just disagree.
But, I don't want you to feel that I think my opinion is more valuable than yours, so i am not going to try to convince you of why i think the way i do.
I guess this is just where we agree to disagree

In California, you make a hundred grand, 35k goes to the Feds, 10k goes to california.. then with the remaining 55k, anything you buy you get hit with 8.25% sales tax.. so you are lucky to get 50 cents out of every dollar you earn.
Here in Ireland you pay about 30k.. depending on a few things.. i.e. dependants etc..
The issue with the States is the fact that they spend 35% of every tax dollar on the military... The rest of the world spends about 10%.. so we can pay less in taxes and still have free healthcare.

Im sure there are fatties everywhere but it seems in America they are PROUD to be fat and show it off.
My girl weight all of 103-105 lbs and still has nice curves. She laughs at all the fatties and says all the time how do they let themselves get like that?

There are many advantages to living over here although i hate it when people class Britain as part of Europe, i also have the fact that we have a royal family, id like to kill the bastards..
The whole teeth issue is bollocks in all honesty, i have regular visits to the dentist for free and my teeth are in excellent condition, never had a filling.. I wouldn't mind betting that if i had to go out and find someone with bad teeth then it would take a while. Also according to the W.H.O the Aussies have the worst teeth...
We can also order or buy and own steroids without any worries, when my tag comes off i shall take a quick trip to somewhere like Spain, which is only a couple of hours on the plan. I will be picking up two years supply of aas including pharma hgh, and bringing it back through customs will not be a problem as im well within the law...
Imo our health care system is top notch, in the last few years ive had a number of small operations. I waited no longer than a few weeks and the hospital was immaculate. Funny enough my last operation was in Urmston, Manchester. There is an American private clinic there that use state of the art equipment. It was a great experience, no sitting round waiting. The second i got there this Yank doctor met me, he explained everything then took me to the pre-op room. The op only took an hour and as i recovered this Yank nurse sat with me until i was ready to go home... Btw this was all free on the NHS...
All this said, id still love to spend some time in the US, infact id seriously consider moving there for good. Ive never been there before but from everything i read and see i just love the place and the people.. Hell 95% of members here are Yanks and i really enjoy spending time on here with you guy's...

That is the way health care is here but Im afraid not for long. Most of the time I can get in to see my doctor in 3 days or less. Surgery scheduled in a week or? xrays and MRI/Cat scans I can see/get the results same day or next.
Most other places who have the universal health care things like xray/MRI take weeks to get back.
Dentist is usually one week or less for an appointment but things like root canal and crowns can be expensive.
I had a quote from my dentist for double root canal and crown $1800 out of my pocket when done. I bought a RT ticket to Philippines $950 and had all my dental work done for $400. That still leaves me $400 play money.

lol that last one with the soldier and the other guy....I'm actually not thinking that's a bad one :P
BTW... I don't remember the stat exactly but I hear that in Britain, more people die from treatable diseases than the US...but I think they are lower than all of Europe as well.
