Once i get my financial circumstances sorted out,i intend to get myself a sup or skyline gtr. both great cars. 2wd v 4wd. i am a member on a supra forum and from what i believe is the engine are pretty much bullet proof.

Im yet to see a 2JZ break due to anything but poor tuning. Im sure its possible given the right circumstances but its widely regarded as the most power-potential engine to come out of Japan and some say in the history of road car engines. When I was in Japan, I even witnesses Skylines who through away the RB26 in favor of the 2JZ... biggest problem with the RB26 (rb motors in general) is the shitty oiling system starting in the crank case. One of the worst oil pickups ever created and they have a tendency to spin bearings very easily. Put a proper pick up in there and they become pretty monsterous.

KP you know your cars all right and correct about the RB engines. They tend to shit themselves in a spectaccular form. A lot of the lads that go to the ring laugh at the GTR's because they all generally implode from the high speed straights killing the big ends on the RB engine due to the back pick up. The 2 JZ engine is epic and you can get reliable and manageable power all day long in them. I've driven a few and there not the best on a tight and twisty road but are great on the flat and are a nice high speed cruiser you can see Toyota threw a lot of money in terms of development for that car more so than they have on the newer models.

Supras get respect in almost all car communities and that's hard to do, specially with a foreign car. Very cool car, solid all the way around. I like what you said about poor tuning being the main reason for engine failure. Alot of people out there take tuning for granted thinking something is "bulletproof". Ask anyone who has ever owned a 900+ hp car and they will tell you nothing is bulletproof given the right circumstances. I will never forget the first time I let go of the trans brake button on close to 1000 hp bound up and waiting to go. It was a real eye opener, namely to the fact that it is a violent reaction when it goes in gear, puts the front tires in the air and pins you through the seat.
Check out Jessica Barton's Supra, and yes she drives it!
She is the total package!

thats just nasty. I have a set, but they wont fit the Supra. They stick out too far. Supra's run very high positive offset so they can push the control arms out as far as possible for maximising leverage on the road. Stock offset is +50 F&R. Not a lot of options in a wide wheel without spending over $3G just for the wheels
