In Your Honest Opinion.....
Now we all know that the division of "Bikini" is now becoming popular amongst our bodybuilding/figure/fitness competitions.
It's my opinion...and roughly around 90% of the athletes who are in either of the three sports that Bikini is NOT and ever will be deemed as the same statues. To simply diet a few weeks...enhance certain body parts (which is fine), and step on stage disregards all hard work, dedication and devotion to the lifestyle. And, most of us cannot respect any bikini girls who step on stage with the rest of admirable bb/figure or fitness girls.
This is just only due to myself being Figure and always volunteering my time to competitions where I witness the Bikini woman being ostracized from the majority.
Now....I argued with a friend yesterday who said this was where the money was going to be in the future and that the way of muscle on a female was going out the door.
Of course I disagreed...even in everyday life i find more fit woman attractive than vice versa.
But....in any of your opinions; do you think the "fit', "muscle"...."figure" girl is on her way out and the "bikini" look will be taking over as the more appealing look.
Either for what you prefer...and / or for the sport?

i fail to see how bikini could be rated amoungst the other three as a competitive disapline, it has as much credibility as a beauty pageant in my view

the three are popular because they are an extreme, bikini is just attractive woman stripped off, its just eye candy, theres no substance to it

Are you asking what we find appealing, personally or are you asking if Bikini should even be competing in the same shows as fitness? As far as what I find attractive, I find both attractive, my preference between the two would be a more athletic body, but I'm not a huge fan of female vascularity. But my preference run the gammit. My ideal body type is neither of those. I prefer a more curvy woman (ie Kim Kardashian)

What you prefer on an athlete level in these competitions.
And, might as well through in personal choice for shits and giggles

My girl gets a womens fitness magazine, not sure which one, but, some of the figure competetors are getting pretty muscular and lean.
Dont get me wrong I apreciate their dedication and athletisism(sorry my spelling sucks), but I prefer a little bit more BF, not fat but a little softer.
The bikini women are nice. Definitly like the athletic look though. Personal opinion.

All the BIkini Division is missing is some cigarette smoke and a brass pole on the stage. It's a complete joke that those women are on the same stage as the other athletes that have busted their ass for 16 weeks preparing for it. The new WPD division will be starting at both Jr NPC shows this year as well as the USA's, North Americans and Nationals with IFBB pro cards awarded. This look is supposed to be "Figure" + 20% muscle, so somewhere between the current female standards for bodybuilding and figure.

I love the figure look..... I like the fitness look...... I also love the bikini look..... However I don't think "bikini" should be a division on stage. Bikini divisions are for beauty pagents.....

I'm not a fan of the Bev Francis look. I've always liked the Figure and Bikini comps, and prefer those over BB and fitness. As for whether or not it enhances the sport of bodybuilding, it brings in competitors, and fans. So I look at it as a positive.

Problem is whenever someone hears "Female Bodybuilder" they always draw up images of an IFBB Pro. The majority of local and state level female competitors look nothing like that. My wife has won overall titles in both bodybuilding and figure and she doesnt look anything like Bev Francis as many of you know. I have many friends who's wives and girfriends compete in bodybuilding, figure and bikini, if you were to see them off season I bet you wouldnt even be able to tell who competes in what division as their looks arent all that different. Funny, I have had people see pictures of my wife on stage competing and say "thats a bit too much muscle for me" yet they see another picture and say "now that's perfect". Then I tell them it's the same girl and the pics were taken less than two weeks apart.

For personal preference I prefer the bikini girl. I don't mind a very mild muscle girl. I agree tho that bikini belongs in a beauty pageant and should not be on stage with the others.

I dont think the actual chemically enhanced man looking bodybuilding woman has ever been popular, but I think the bodybuilding, fitness and figure will sadly see a decline over the next decade. And not because they do not have amazing dedication or phsyiques, but moreso because it takes an effort. And we all know the common trend in todays society is to put in as little effort as possible
As Kawi mentionned, most bikini div girls diet a couple weeks out and bolt on some big cans to offset other areas that are out of proportion... and since these "peices of meat" (pardon the crudeness) are what we are seeing more and more of and drawing bigger crowds or drooling men and girls who want to show off on stage, then this is where the sponsorship (product endorsement money) will go which is what realistically builds a "sport".
And with more money there and more fly-by-night supp companies promoting the newest sit on your ass but take these pills and shred up suppliments, why would anyone actually want to put a serious effort into competing?
Sure you will alwas have those who do it for their personal well being (not that fitness and figure is any more gentle on the body with some of the crap they pump in) but you wont see the sports grow which mans they taper off and die out.
Just my $0.02

Holy Sh!t man... this is perfect. Curvy ass, healthy titties and super athletic. When women start getting huge and vascular, it reminds me of a man. Not that there is anything wrong with that.... I just don't want to fvck it. I think a mix between the BB and bikini girl is best... with more emphasis on bikini girl.
(I agree, they shouldn't be allowed on stage with the devoted)

i personally prefer the athletic/fitness build, and a nice caboose! kawi, you are a pretty good example of what i like. female BBers look weird to me, not feminine at all. and think about snuggling, it would be like being with a male!

I love a bikini girl as much as the next guy, but you can find them anywhere...actually, you can find them EVERYWHERE. Why include them in competitions with people that have dedicated their lives to the sport? Makes no sense to me. And if bodybuilding organizations need to get a majority of their revenue from skinny girls with big boobs, then they need to change their business model and get into the "skinny girls with big boobs" business, not the body development business.

i know plenty of girls that would be "bikini" that train hard and never miss the gym. Just cause they dont diet hard enought to be 8% or want larger muscles doesnt mean they are dedicated any less.
