WTF! Is this for real?
http://www.videobash.com/video_show/...ut-a-cup-14032
Anyone know if this is even possible? Maybe it has to do with the surface tension of water.

If you think this is true, i have a bridge to sell you.

I'm all stocked up on bridges at the moment, do you have any tunnels?

I did that with whiskey once.

All out of tunnels. I did some research and it does work but you have to use urine.

No its not real and I'll explain why. Surface tension does not mean side tension. And when he pulled out the paper he created a leak. And that leak instantly becomese an outlet for any tension. Even if you cleaned around the outside of the glass, I'm telling you theres no tension on the sides to battle the centrifugal force of gravity pushing out. And you will also notice theres not another single video of this being done by a regular person.
I believe what he did was partially freeze the water in a freezer. All you need is a very thin shell of ice all around the outside. Once you take it out the freezer, the outside of the ice melts, removing any trapped air from the frozen surface. Kinda like if you take an icecube out and run it under hot water for a second, it will become clear. If that icecube is partially frozen, then exposed to heat, it will look like free standing water.
I'll put down a thousand dollars that this is a magic trick and not possible anywhere where there is gravity. Water is far too dense on earth to behave like that. Just totally not possible.
