I agree with what you're sayin. But unlike other characters in which the size of the character and the look of the character doesn't mean as much if the actor is able to convey the nuances of a character (ie Hugh Jackman and Wolverine). But Conan's iconic size is what makes him who he is. Unfortunately unlike many Marvel characters, he doesn't say much so his persona is based on his size/appearance. So you would have to have someone that can, at the very least, come close to believable size and personality.

I agree but I don't think Hollywood does. Look at the hulk for example. They replaced Lou ferrigno with Edward norton.

The didn't replace Lou Ferrigno with Edward Norton, the replaced Bill Bixby with Edward Norton. Lou Ferrigno was replaced by CGI.

Yah, Im assuming Conan of the now will be more like Gyllenhaal in Prince of Persia.. it will only fly if they put some lean dude in there to get the girls interested. Seeing someone like Arnold in the original was cool, but now you need more of a pretty boy. At least it wont be Vin Diesel... they should make Conan black and use Dr Dre, he's gettin a little bigger than your average bear
