BIG TEXAN, it is NOT the Academy Awards you should be pissed at, its the hollywood liberals who are to blame. The Academy Awards is the greatest celebration of Americam cinema. Its an American tradition, maybe one that is run by a bunch of wimpy bleeding hearts, but its still our tradition. Plain and simple.
When I think about everyone who had a comment about the war or Bush that night, Michael Moore comes to mind....fuck that fat piece of shit....when he accepted his Acedemy Award for best documentary, he criticized Bush and the war.....it was so fucked up that even the audience of actors (hollywood liberals) booed him!!!Last edited by Big Rush; 03-31-2003 at 04:41 PM.

Though many of the hollywood people in the audience may have agreed with his point of view, misusing his "2 minutes in the spotlight" was quite a lack of decorum.
Whats next? Streakers on stage at the Grammy's? Buddist monks immolating themselves at the Peoples Choice Awards?
Sillyness aside, it's all a question of respect. Everyone has the right to disagree with the government and what they are doing, but it shows poor judgement when one uses a celebration of your peers achievements to plug their political agenda.

He had a chance to say something really insipirational, but he blew it.
Had i been him i would have said something like 'now that Ive opened your eyes what do you plan to do about it?' or something of that nature. oh well. all is said and done, nothin can change it now.
peace

Let's support our boys and girls, without them we'd have to protect ourselves against suicide bombers & other terrorists. Those protestors are ridiculus, protesting violence, yet getting arrested for being disrupted. Our government has one major job in my opinion, and that's to protect us. Why protest if it's actually doing it? The protestors are mostly anti-american (most, not all) ideologues who would protest no matter what the reason if republicans went to war. Where were these people when we bombed Bosnia? Luckily, these protestors are just crybabies who didn't get their way & represent a minority, not a majority. I'm NOT a republican, I am a Libertarian.

Ok, lets keep the bickering (no matter what side it's for) else where....this is just for those that wish to show support for those men and women that are putting THEIR lives on the line for our and the world's freedoms. Many have died already and I pray that not another life is lost...well except Saddam's, just end this quickly, and bring our troops home. God bless those that have sacrificed for us.

One more bump for OUR BOYS finding Jessica..........and also a RIP for those who were dead when our troops arrived at the hospital...God Bless!
Have ya'll heard Colin Powell's where in England the Archbishop of Canterbury asked him if our plans for Iraq were just an example of empire building by George Bush.
Colin Powell's response: "Over the years, the United States has sent many of its fine young men and women into great peril to fight for freedom beyond our borders. The only amount of land we have ever asked for in return is enough to bury those that did not return."
It became very quiet in the room after his response.

Bickering is not stating an argument. Bickering is when you insinuiate that I'm bickering. Therefore, you are the bickerer, you know who I'm talking to. And shut the fuck up about the innocent Iraqis. Jesus Christ. We're doing their work for them, because they can't protect themselves while their leader gasses them and puts them through woodchippers. Where was your support for the innocent Iraqis when more were dying before the war started. We're protecting them. Do you think Bush is gonna gas us & put us through a woodchipper??????????? Let him try it! We would uprise. Would the innocent Iraqis come help us? Don't say I'm bickering on the sole premise that you disagree with me, mabe you should look the word up first. Fuck you and your innocent Iraqis, if they don't like it move. I'd move out of Iraq if I lived there, I wouldn't complain about it.

Archbishop of Canterbury?????????????????????????? Must be an idiot to begin with. The nerve of that archbishop guy to talk to Powell like that. All high and mighty because he claims to be in touch with god. Christianity is a joke.
