BUT.... I think the divorce rate in arranged marriages is not a very good indicator of the overall quality of the marriage itself.

Why?

In an arranged marriage, the decision does not usually vest with the couple, but with the family. So, if the decision to marry is not vested with the couple, then it would seem reasonable the decision to un-marry is ALSO not vested with the couple..... IT'S NOT THEIR DECISION!!!

I think the statistic for divorce in the country of original marriage, if not in the USA, would be almost zero. Only when you get to America, and experience freedom, does the idea of un-marriage get any traction.
