Where do you get this crap, is MTV still spewing political puke on the youth of this nation? You can find this stuff on any # of Govt. or watchdog sites and the numbers are typically spot on regardless of which you choose. Inflation?? Reagan?? WTF? I'm sorry jdawg but your posts show a lack of comprehension. Due diligence my friend!! Make no mistake, neither myself nor most of these guys will give a conservative a free ride either, an idiot is an idiot and a liar is a liar whether it's Obama or GW Bush, but the discussion has turned into you trying to tell us that Obama has done nothing wrong and is a good leader, I'm sorry your guy turned out to be an idiot, it's OK, it happens to us conservatives sometimes too.

No. I'm arguing against unwarranted and unfounded attacks against him. I'd much rather have Paul or Romney in charge.

Yes, inflation. You say things like "In less than two years he has accumulated as much debt as all preceding administrations combined," and you say my posts lack comprehension?

That's like saying my salary is higher than George Washington and Babe Ruth combined. Is it true? Yeah...... maybe I'll go buy Mount Vernon.

Theres a lot more to the story than just rejecting a pipeline into the US because of the typical tree hugger blah blah...I work in this industry, have for many years both in Logistics and Procurement and Trading. First, Aramco who and what is Aramaco. Its the Arabic and American Gas company, we brokered a deal many many years ago to build their infrastructure, manage and purchase their products in exchange for; 50% of all profits from exports (which we control), they maintain 100% control and proceeds from domestic internal business. This is no big secret in the Oil and Gas business. Also, you have to keep in mind all the Majors (BP, Totale, Shell etc), small trading firms and private equity groups both domestic US and abroad when it comes to making money on refined products. I may purchase a 75,000mt vessel of LS02 or GOS305-82 (russian grade) on open water or at port and resell that product for profit (could be done multiple times before it reaches port of destination). Also there is what is called contango, where companies will fill vessels with different products, crude oil, refined products etc, offshore and wait 2 months to 3 months to sell the product. When you have mulitple trading firms doing this its why you see these absurd prices in gasoline and other refined products. I could go on for hours on the different ways money is made in this industry...Ive been told numerous times by some fairly large guys, wont name the name but I worked for a private humanitarian foundation (where all the monster money is, not the banking system), we would rather suck all the resources dry in high threat areas such as the middle east where they would never beable to wage wars, that is shared view in the western world. Also, a government who thinks about self preservation generations ahead of the current is not interested in wasting its resources, then you will really be dependent on foreign Oil. Again, there is so many variables to this discussion, vast majority of the reason has to do with money...We also have to remember, we have not even come close to the infrastructure needed to sustain the US when it comes to refining Oil to meet the demands of just this country. Would take 100's of billions (US dollars) and +40 years of construction some figures say to beable to handle the demands. But, rumor has it...Along the LA and Mississippi coast the fed's are buying up large amounts of coastal properties destroyed by the storms for pennies on the dollars. My understanding the Army Corp's of Engineers have already been working heavily in that area. Again rumor has it they are going to build refineries capable of creating LPG from Natural Gas. Currently we do not have that capability of refining Natural Gas, were exporting it to be refined, costly. Russia is the largest producer of LPG in the world, 2015 the largest exports of LPG the world has ever seen will be going to the Chinese. Just food for thought...

Neither 'war' was on the scale of the cold war. The Russians were an actual empire, with nearly 30,000 nuclear tipped ICBM and SLBMs pointed at us, they had an enormous army, and a REAL ability to kill 90% of the population of the United States. In contrast, we spent almost as much money, chasing hadji's around the desert, destroying our forces with homemade bombs and 40 year old AK's. The root cause of the Roman Empire's collapse was an economic crisis, the chipping away at the empire by barbaric tribes and other outside forces became possible because the Roman Empire became insolvent, unable to maintain its infrastructure and to pay its soldiers. Rampant spending is what lead to its demise.

I was referring to unemployment and entitlement programs discussed earlier in the thread. Is that inaccurate?

Unemployment is more of an insurance program that workers pay into, rather then an entitlement. But I'm not sure what you were arguing, and this thread is so filled with inaccurate liberal drivel, I care not to go back through the thread and look. Cutting entitlements is absolutely necessary for the nations survival, we have 70 trillion in unfunded liabilities by 2050. Unless you expect Santa Claus to cover those costs, we either come up with 70 billion dollars in that time frame, on top of a normal yearly Federal budget, or we HAVE TO START CUTTING PROGRAMS. People need to be slowly weaned off the government dole, it encourages nothing but more dependence. The real pain could have been averted if we had let all of the toxic debts be liquified, and allowed the banks who engaged in bad practices to fail. It's called moral hazard, we bail out insolvent institutions who undertook bad business practices, and then bail them out. Where is their incentive to start to do sound business? There have been recessions in the 1800s before progressives started central banking, but all of those recessions lasted only 1 year give or take, because the market was allowed to correct itself. Borrowing and injecting more capitol into the market, interfering in the market even more, only prolongs the correction and draws out the recession.

Really? He has broken "just about every promise?"

    http://www.politifact.com/truth-o-me...ises/obameter/

Lol, this shit is laughable. I don't care that he didn't appoint some Czar to oversee the ****ing childrens autism research. Those are details no one really cares about. The KEY ISSUES that he campaigned on, he broke. The ones I listed before, regarding extreme rendition, Gitmo, Iraq for 3 years, Libya, Transparency in government, asassination of US citizens, and the NDAA 2012 act being signed. These are the issues he campaigned on, the ones that got him elected. The 'promises kept' section, are all minor bullshit programs you would never hear mentioned in a debate. They are not key policy issues mentioned in a campaign.

If one is a traitor and a terrorist, you have a problem with that?

"Whoever, owing allegiance to the United States, levies war against them or adheres to their enemies, giving them aid and comfort within the United States or elsewhere, is guilty of treason and shall suffer death"

This shows a complete lack of understanding and respect for the RULE OF LAW!!!! Yes, treason is a crime punishable by death. What you fail to understand however, is that the constitution gives traitors the right to a FAIR TRIAL by a jury of their peers, for the EVIDENCE to be reviewed, and for the COURTS TO DECIDE whether that person lives or dies. Under Obama, he believes that HE hasthe sole discretion to decide whether an American citizen lives based on HIS interpretation as to whether or not they are a threat to the national security of the United States. We are a nation of LAWS, not of MEN. The governments entire purpose for having a seperation of powers, of checks and balances, is to ensure that ONE MAN does not have such power. The constitution, specifically with regard to US citizens, gives them certain PROTECTIONS against such blatent abuses of Executive power. You cant be arrested and executed without a warrant, without a trial, and without the writ of habeas corpus. You posit that because someone might be a traitor, they can be killed indiscriminately. I am telling you that with respect to the constitution and the rule of law, THEY CANNOT! I didn't support this kind of Executive power grabbing bullshit when Bush was doing it, and I still don't support it when Obama is doing it. What a tradgedy for a President who claims to be a scholar of the constitution.
My replies are in bold. You should really try educating yourself on these issues, and maybe taking some classes in law. In our country,we dont just go kill people, we respect the rule of law, that is what makes us "the greatest country on Earth." If this is the kind of Democracy that we are trying to export by force around the world, it's no wonder that foreign countries are saying HELL NO and want us out of there.

And that's why it's important to find a leader who understands the constitution and believes in it, we didn't become great by doing things the way we currently do, this behavior will ultimately lead to our downfall. Good points about Bush....I cringed after 911 when he touted the patriot act, it was only a matter of time before absolute power was abused.
