stage fright
Im 5weeks and one day out from my first bodybuilding show. My trainer says i am right on schedule and couldnt be doing better with my diet so far. Im bigger and leaner then i have ever been in my life, i love the way i look. But i find myself dreading the show and getting on stage. How can i get over this?!?! I am never a very confident person when it comes to my body, all i have ever really looked at was my flaws and i feel like thats all anybody else sees. I have always wanted to do this. please give me sum real advice i really would appreciate it

When your about to go on stage just do it. Don't think. Dive in and do it

They say if you post for a few people naked that will more than prime for a competition. My Box is open....
Realist: A person who sees things as they truly are. A practical person. The pessimist complains about the wind; The optimist expects it to change; The realist adjusts the sails. — William Arthur Ward

Schmidty, have you done everything you can to prepare? If you have, then think about that at the moment you take the stage. It will give you confidence. But that's something you and only you can know. If you haven't done everything you can can then it will creep into your thoughts and it will translate on stage. Put in the work today for that big pay off tomorrow when you step out on stage for everybody to see.

U deserve to win! U fought hard to get where u are and u going up there to take what belongs to u! Good luck and show them why u are the best! Keep that in mind positivity conquers all! myself never had to go on stage but i had to fight in front of a lot of people and im guessing its the same feeling!

Make sure you look good and your confident. It's not that bad, with the lighting you really can't see the crowd.

You were nervous the first time you had sex too but now your a pro at it so practice makes perfect. OK so I'm guessing on that..lol After a few shows it will be a non issue. BTW what most freaks you out about it right now? Is it the fact your going out practically naked or just fear of how you will stack up against the competition, or fear you'll mess your routine up due to being nervous? Just curious.

Maybe talk to your doctor about a beta blocker. They work good for stage fright, and will keep you calm. MANY people use them for public speaking, music and acting, and a variety of social situations. Propranolol is pretty common. The only thing I'm not sure of is if taking something like this is against the rules, so you would need to check that part of it out.

I really wonder how many people actually use beta blockers for nerves.
OP, that nervous butterfly feeling is a good thing. It lets you know that it matters to you. One of my music professors told me before that the second you stop feeling those butterflies is the moment you find something else to do.

I think its because i cant cum unless my toes are pointed down really hard causing them to flex. And i used to ride BMX a lot when i was younger. I still train them 2 times a week, one day very heavy and later in the week very light 4 sets each time. the first 2 full range of motion and the second 2 are usually partials. Almost like big sets of 21s

thank you! Its really strange, when i had the pics taken at the gym i had people around me and i was actually feeling pretty confident about it. I think i am more worried about actually knowing how to pose. The guy taking pics for me would tell me what pose to do and id do it but when it comes to thinking of what to do myself i draw a complete blank. im just going to practice at it as much as i can and do my best. One guy me pose this saturday and hes been doing comps for over 30years, he said the thing i need to work most on is my breathing and that i dont need so flex so hard
