Boss
I'm pretty sure my repla***ent has been hired at my job. My boss and I have had a bad relationship the whole time. I tried to diffuse the situation but other people played off his inferiority complex and turned him against me, made him believe I'm his enemy when all I wanted to do was come in and work and pull a check.
Getting to the point, I am worried the day they release me he is going to make a smart remark. I'm not sure how to respond. He's got the phyisque of a boy. I probably have 30 lbs on him so I'm conflicted. I don't want to pick a fight with a boy child but at the same time it feels wrong to brush it off if he tries to insult me. Also if I go off on him even if it doesn't get physical, I want my record to reflect I was a temp whos time ended amicably, so I am thinking I would have to eat the remarks unless I want to whisper something to him.
I dunno anybody ever been in this position?

been in similar situations and it takes the bigger person to walk away. sucks that it had to do with your employment but you wouldn't want to beat his ass and wind up in jail. just not worth it in my opinion. concentrate on finding another job and forget the child boss

I used to hire temps from time to time. You may not get the opportunity to say anything cause your boss will probably call the agency and tell them that your services are no longer needed. This means you will get a call from the agency telling you not to report back. Hopefully he will give you a good report regarding your work or the agency might not use you again.

Getting physical will accomplish nothing and just because he is half your size doesn't mean hes less of a man. I think you need to do some self reflection as to why your manager does not like you? You have not really given us much? but from my experience most who get fired often deserve it even when they think they do not...not always dont get me wrong but 95% of the time there is a good reasons or reasons for someone being let go...even if you dont like your boss you still have to respect him because they is the way life works and if you dont like it then work for your self and be your own boss...that what I did! I dont like people telling me what to do and making all the profit so I started my own business lol

One time I complained about my manager to my dad and he said to me "You know I understand were your coming from but listen...no one is holding a gun and making you stay there so why dont you go look for another job and once you have one quit?" he also told me "you have a choice ever time you walk into work! you can be miserable and hate the world or you can make the best of the situation while you are there and in the mean time look for somthing eles, somthing better" I think you should take this advice and start looking for something that will bring more joy to your life, and in the mean time just make the best of your situation! be nice to you manager and he will prob. be shocked!

in business, most people in ops, including top management, do not like me. I'm the CPA/Controller dude that is in actually a corporate cop and sometimes doesn't even report to anyone at the factory. They see me as someone that impedes business, as opposed to enhances business.....
.....but very few besides myself in the organization considers legalities and reporting requirements.
my point is, I seem to be constantly at odds with top management to a certain extent. it's a rough, rocky ride not for the faint of heart.
you are not alone amigo!

Not to play the devil's advocate here but you said you were a temp correct? So wouldn't the business be looking to hire somebody to actually fill the position permanently, i.e. your repla***ent?

You guys have me laughing and I like the comment about no one is holding a gun to your head saying you have to work there. I have an add on comment
Is there corporate world ever not ****ing retarded? People in the company I work for hide serious issues from upper management. In addition, they work hard to create a culture of "never speak up, never raise your hand". Attempts to better performance are often rewarded with know-your-place put downs. You are expected to cover for your coworkers and boss even in the line of direct questioning from upper management about how things are going, no matter how bad they are going. Its like nothing Ive ever seen. It almost feels like a situation where theres so much money floating around that the bigwigs have no clue how much they are leaving on the table. So yeah every quarter they tally their profits and figure well its bigger than last year so thats good enough.

I know the feeling, be the bigger man and don't give your boss more reason to hate you.
Or if you want take it out on the boss not the new guy.

oh I feel for ya cherry.
I was once hired at a job, looked at the calender on my desk and noticed 3 different hand writting for appointments and period marked on it (meaning no less than 3 girls worked there and thought they would be there for that month lol) talk about having no job security! lol than aboubut 2months in one day I pull a fax to give my boss an see that its from a temp agency concerning a canadit with resume for my job! wtf lol
needless to say I started job hunting asap, but was fired ultimatly. I just shook the bosses hand and said something like, I hope you finally find your special some one and oh you may want to get rid of the calender on the desk before my repla***ent notices that they are disposable and this possition had no less than 4 employees over the past few months. ...lol

Ask to have a word with him in private, tell him your thoughts and respect his reply.
Hitting him will only work out bad for you, im sure this can be resolved if you communicate with him in an adult manner

I have had great results by just asking people if they wished to talk about the matter privately. Shows professionalism on your part and when he declines punk on him. I supervise a lot of people and cannot always explain my actions. One day a subordinate went crazy over something that wasn't even my decision. He was screaming about what a man he was. I simply walked over and said, you obviously have something to say let's speak privately. Not the response he expected. He dodged me all day. I finally had to order him into a conference room for privacy. He quickly apologized and I said never again.
