The pumpkin pie thread: Pumpkin pie is ONLY good cold. I'm sorry.

This is really making me craze a banana caramel cream pie right now!!! Not my favourite pie, but by damn it's the sweetest!!

For those interested:

Thin pie base, fill with sliced banana, then a thick layer of caramel from a tin. Then top with huge chunks of double thick whipped cream. Let it all chill right down before serving.

In the last two hours I've:

- 10 oz steak
- 18 oz chicken
- 2 bowls of flax seed and Ezekiel cereal
- 1 lean body shake

....and I'm still friggn hungry!!!!

I've never thought about it before this thread but I eat my Mom's homemade from scratch pumpkin pie warm and cold. Warm because I don't wait for it to cool down when she pulls it from the oven. Other than that, I'll eat it right from the fridge. Topped with real whipped cream. Never even thought of nuking it.

definitely warm with ice cream here not whipped cream although thats good too but not the same

never knew ppl prefered pumkin pie cold til reading this thread..learn something new always here

someone posted a pumpkin cake pic and recipe on facebook the other day that bout made me go to the store

my wife made an apple cake last year that was unbelievably good..i wish i didnt like sweets

Hate it when that happens. I have to say. A lot of pies are nicer cold than warm imo. Goes for a lot of things too lol.

LOL, I heard he actually mixes Miracle grow with Tren Ace in the blendtec and feeds the pumpkins.

Best desert of all time is Pumpkin Cheesecake. I still say thats a pie not a cake. Anything with a crust has to be pie right? Oh yea I make that bad boy from scratch with gramcracker/pecan crust. So good makes your tongue want to slap yo brains out!!!

Best pie Ive ever tasted and I love pies. lol

I used to work at an Italian Bakery and around Easter they would make Ricotta pie.

Those things were in high demand!!

And Id always steal a few for myself before they sold out.

So damn good.

Find an Italian bakery and make them bake you one.

Or just go to Italy and everything is unreal. Unlike cakes over this side of the world they are not as filling as they are over here or make you feel as shitty like someof the cakes here.

And how big is one serving? Isn't that relative?

I'd say that pie I made has about 8 servings. 8 slices. I only had 2 when I took that pic. 3/4 of the pie is gone now.

Did not make the crust from scratch though. I used those pre-made frozen ones you just throw into the oven after putting the pie filling on it.

I love pumpkin pie, secretary at work baked me 2 pies last sunday and gave me some cool whip. How could I say no. Only good cold though I agree. Seems to taste a lot more bitter when hot.
