System
Thinking about getting a little 4 channel amp and some speakers for my car. Just did the HU install. Haven't messed with this stuff since I was a teen. Might go to best buy or some place for install. Do you guys have anything in your ride?

Yeah I have a nice little system I set up years ago. I need to find some pictures. It's not bad, looks nice but needs some wires cleaned up. I ran separate amps for each set of speakers, separate for tweets, mid, full and of course Bass. The hardest part is getting them mixed/fade correctly and the sounds so they are clear separately and dont sound mushy when all together.
Power is a big deal also to make sure you dont run the speaker wires near any power so you don't have any noise. Filters will take away the noise but it also takes away from the quality.
Dont go overboard on the speakers or the amps. Dont go cheap either but there is not reason to spend $200 on mid/full range speakers or tweaters or $500 on woofer even in a box. You can get some really good sound and hard hitting with 10" woffers in a properly sized box.
There are a lot of smaller shops who will do good work and not over charge you like Magnolia high price or some like that. Frys looks like they do OK work and car toys is hit or miss. Typically they just try to over sell you on speakers

A few years ago I had 2 10's and 2 12's with both sets powered by their own amp. It was pretty seet and extremely loud. I got rid of them though because I wanted my backseat back. I'm thinking about getting some 10'a in a box that will slide under the seat. Nothing to fancy just a little boom.

Tbh guys I've never seen the point of this I mean it doesn't add value to a car and I think personally that these ppl look like dicks driving around with windows down or roof off and rested elbows on ledges and the bass just going boom boom wtf is that all about????
Now pure class is driving a Morgan or an Aston Martin db5 or even an e type jag then you'd have full on posing rites
Just my 10pence

I think it also depends on the car. You dont want some POS where the stereo is worth more than the car or something the rattles when the bass is turned up.
It is nice/fun to feel that hard hitting bass though especially with certain songs but DONT annoy your neighbors or have it cranked at red lights. That being said I got a ticket once when I was parked in an empty parking lot because a cop said he could hear my from 2 blocks away. lol

I did all that when I was a kid, now I just want a nice clear set up with a little power. I have a convertable so it has to be a little louder.

Every car I own has a "system" of some sort. Just depends on how wild you want to go. Or how much money you want to throw down. I still feel like my car should be heard from a block away. It being my exhaust or obnoxious system.
