............the reason i'm not on here as I have been in the past, is due to a new local job. I don't have one of those crazy fancy internet phones like some of you, so I get on here when i can, which is usually after dinner/before gym in the evening, or on the weekends.

And for those that are interested in shit like this, we (the company that hired me) just acquired another company, and friday I completed the new business unit in the accounting package, which has got to be some kind of world record. The integrity of the data in the sub modules remains intact (inventory/ap/ar), but i blew out all the data in the GL and created a new business unit.

(I bet you blokes get real excited hearing about all that accounting crap, no?)

Congradulations. You should always follow the money! I know absolutely nothing about accounting, but it sounds like very good developments for you.

So maybe with the new income, you can get one of those fancy internet phones now! I personally hate browsing the forum on my phone and only do it out of necessity.

I'm new here and don't know anyone, but congrats TR. Always good to be working in these times.

And my wife is a controller of a smaller company (200ish employees), but she obviously came throught the ranks of AP, AR and I even know what a GL is becuz of her, so I'm following all the jargon. I just get more excited when she talks about it than when you do.

Don't let them talk you into a new phone. I use a Blackberry that work pays for and when I retire I'll be back to the good old days when you could live without being constantly interrupted by emails and phone calls. No cell phone for me thank you.

Stay away from the new phones. I used to love my iPhone alerting me to emails, texts, Facebook & all the other shit. Now the only ringer I have set is the phone calls. God I miss my old Motorola flip phone that only made phone calls.
