Lance Armstrong On Oprah
So, Lance is due to appear, for a 90 minute show, on Oprah next Thursday (17th January).
Who reckons he is gonna come clean about his (alleged) drug use and apologise profusely in floods of tears?

Either that or deny all knowledge of it

Im looking forward to hearing what he has to say either way.

Also..... Rumour has it...if he comes clean his ban on racing triathlons will be lifted.... He's currently in Hawaii training swim/bike/run and had some awesome results in 70.3's during last season prior to his ban.

if he fesses up hes gonna look like a real idiot IMO as well as lose all credibility.. i am a cycling fan and enjoyed watching him over the years. in the beginning i believed him until i learned a little more about the sport which runs rampant with doping. lets think about this for a sec..
how the hell could he win 7 straight tours in a sport where possibly the majority of the competitiors are doping? its an endurance sport and to compete on that level (let alone dominate) IMO theres no way in hell he could do it natty.
natty cant compete with PED's. especially in a sport that relies so heavily on personal performance IMO..

for sure! i am/was a big fan and watched every tour he won! i dont have a problem with him denying the allegations especially considering the responsibilities he had to sponsors and fans and stuff, but to so vehemently pursue justice by proving his innocence was overkill and will make him look stupid IMO if he fesses up now.. just my opinion..

If doping is a common occurence in cycling and lets say the top 10 cyclist all doped, then Lance is still the best of the best. That is assumiung others doped like he did. I don't think others would have been even close to him had they not been doping. So, if say half of the competitors doped and he was still able to out race them then I think he is still the F'ing man!!!

I don't think he will. True or not, he's committed to long and to much to denying it. I don;t really care if he has doped. The truth seems to be that the vast majority of competitors doped, and he still beat them. this leads me to believe that if they were all clean, he'd still be at the front of the pack. And any guy that can survive nut cancer, and come back as a multiple champion is a hero in my books, dope or no dope.

Lance has a bit of an ego to put it mildly. I can't see him ever coming clean unless he had books upon books piled of names of other athletes that were doping along with a chest of used needles with their dna. Then again its Oprah so we'll see. The media is a master of making a non story the biggest news of the year and of taking a person and building him up only to tear him down to less than nothing. Lance has just been the latest whipping boy.

I love the TDF and watch the Tour de California stages where I can. Lance is great.
There is quite a bit of juicing in the sport. I dont see how they are ever going to stop as the juicers are ahead of the testers. Taking away titles years after they won is ridiculous to me. I think if you beat the test that year, if your test are clean during the TDF and you win, you get the title forever. I see no other way than to do this crap they've been doing and taking away titles sometimes a decade after they've won.
Lance on Op. I hope he doesn't admit it.

It's funny how everyone thinks that if you dope then you automatically have the ultimate edge in any sport. I've run a few cycles but ain't no way I could even begin to keep up with Lance, nor pro football players, nor pro BB'ers, nor, nor nor..... He has always said that he doesn't, hasn't, won't and never will dope. That's good enough for me. Doesn't mean I believe him though..lol Now bring him back so we can watch some more great sports....

The guy is an asshole who made millions while ruining the lives of anyone who tried to bring the truth to light. He divorced his wife who supported him through his cancer, and dumped Sheryl Crow while she was going through cancer. His "foundation" brings awareness of cancer, not funding for research of cancer. Just another egotistical maniac who uses fear of death to pad their pockets.

British cyclist David Millar says he believes Lance Armstrong's interview with Oprah Winfrey will be "stage-managed".

My insider info suggests that Lance will NOT be admitting anything. Not sure the 'no questions off limits' interview will be very entertaining now!

He's not going to admit anything. Why would he just give up & say "Screw it, you caught me."???

Now that I think about it, didn't Oprah go off the air a couple years ago and retire from the business? I know she has her own satellite channel called the OWN Network, which according to the ratings is in the basement on life support. So an interview like this on her dying network could be just what they both need to help jump their careers again. I can't imagine what Lance could say at this point without looking like a complete liar to the world. I'm hoping he sticks with his original story, denying any knowledge of doping. From what I've heard their still is no absolute proof one way or the other. Although all my gear is Lance Approved...

What I want to know is DID OPRAH EVER USE PEDS? How was she the top show for 7 years in a row? She had to be using something.
Seriously, ESPN says there is going to be some sort of admission. I like Lance a lot. Don't really care if he doped. I just don't want him to let this shit dribble out. You know like "I didn't know that the stuff I was injecting was steroids " or I had an injury and the doctor told me to do X. " it was just some cream"
If he's coming clean, then I hope he gets it all out the first time.

Here's an article on the fear and intimidation Armstrong used against anyone who spoke out against him:

Yup.
You KNEW there HADDA be a reason for him admitting it.
He's an arrogant nasty prick from what I've read about him.
I hope they nail him to the wall.
Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyy too cocky.
Under the World Anti-Doping Code, athletes can receive up to a 75 percent reduction of a ban if they provide substantial assistance to antidoping authorities in building cases against other cheats. For his ban to be reduced, though, Armstrong will have to give information about the people who helped him in his doping.

What are you nuts??? My wife thinks I am sometimes.
If he spills ALL the beans now, how is he gonna sell his tell all book when it comes out after he 'retires'? He won't be able to go into all the details with Op.[/QUOTE]
