    The Following

Anyone catch this show on Fox? It started last week.

About a serial Killer starting a cult and getting them to follow out his orders. I shut it off after 10 minutes last week but I re watched last night and I have to say I am pretty impressed. Might be one of the better network shows that I have seen in awhile.

Can i ask what the difference was the first night you watched it didnt seem to catch your interest? As opposed to the second time you watched it you were glued to it?

    Funny how the brain works.

I watched it... thought it was decent for a pilot episode, enough to make me watch again this week. I'm nervous though... I can see the storyline getting really corny if they're not careful. Hopefully not, I like Kevin Bacon a lot and it'd be hard to believe a relevant Hollywood actor would take a bad TV role when he doesn't have to...

My wife and I love the show. It is one of our new favorites and she is extremly picky when it comes to finding something to tune into every week.

I am def looking forward to tonihgt. I am curious about last weeks ending. Is she a follower or is she playing into his head of making him feel like she is in aww of his power by giving him the book.

I was hooked right away. I spent a bit of time in forensic psych and at one point had considered a career in that area before medicine. I've read several profiles on known serial killers so The Following was something of interest to me. I don't recall the actor's name who plays John Carroll in the show, but his portrayal of a serial killer is diabolical. His blunted affect is spot on and representative of others who have been convicted of similar grisly crimes.

I haven't seen episode 3 yet but I'm waiting for it on Hulu plus! I have big hopes for this series!

If you watch the 3rd episode you can see how moved he is by Joe (serial killer) in there early dealings together. Just makes you think or that is what the episode is meant to do.

I really like the show a lot. I think his name is Joe though. He plays a really great bad guy. He has played a villain on other shows and does it well. I know some people think the acting is bad but I have been impressed so far.

I agree. I think he plays the character (Joe) very well. Historically, most serial killers are brilliant, high functioning individuals. Delusional and socially inept for sure but very brilliant and devious. I think the actor has played the role spot on.

Watched episode 3 last night, so i'm current now. Thought it was the strongest so far... so good news, the show is getting better. I love the flashback format (thank you Lost!) as it certainly aids in character development what would have been impossible to accomplish if constantly in present time.

what I was a little confused by was....when they kept flashing back to Kevin Bacon's character and the Joe....did Kevin know he was the killer then

Awesome episode from Monday. Just watched it tonight. The producers are making Joe Carroll look like a manipulative genius. The cult like attraction to him among his followers was eerie. I'll be very interested to see where it goes from here. I wonder how many more episodes before they leave us hanging and spin another season out of this?

The music is great also. They always have something that drives the end of the epsidoe.

I still think Kevin Bacon is apart of the following

now thats what I call a complete season/finale....every ep was good and left u wanting to see more more the next week....and the season finale was good with suspense AND a ending that made u want the next season to start

havent seen a complete season like that since maybe the first season of Walking Dead/G.O.T.

I enjoyed watching the following. I don’t think Kevin bacon’s character is part of the cult. However, I do think the Shawn Ashmore’s character is part of the cult.
