Manhunt in California: Suspect kills 2 civillians, one officer

The madness never ends. Looks like there is a manhunt for a suspect involved in the killing of a female, her fiance, and one police officer - so far. Two other officers wounded and suspect remains at large.

Yo Obama, how's the new gun restrictions working out!?!?!?!?!?!?!

"Riverside police said two officers were stopped at a red light and "ambushed" by a shooter inside a gray or blue Nissan truck early Thursday morning, similar to the vehicle Dorner is believed to be driving"

In Corona, Los Angeles police officers were on their way for a "special protection" detail at the home of another LAPD officer when they spotted Dorner's vehicle. A man inside the vehicle using a "shoulder weapon" opened fire on the patrol vehicle, Los Angeles police officials said

Hours before the shootings, a man matching Dorner's description was also spotted in San Diego attempting to take a boat at gunpoint. The attempt was ultimately unsuccessful, according to the Los Angeles Times.

Law enforcement officials said Dorner may be switching license plates to evade police. Because he has training as an LAPD officer and as a reservist for the U.S. Navy, the manhunt has posed additional risks for authorities as well. As a precaution, officials from the Los Angeles and Irvine police said, they were making changes to their usual deployment for officer safety.

The manhunt for Dorner began Sunday, after Monica Quan and Keith Lawrence were found shot and killed in an Irvine parking structure by their home. Quan is the daughter of a retired captain with the Los Angeles police, one of several officials from the LAPD named in a long "manifesto" left behind by Dorner, who blamed several officials in the department for the end of his career in law enforcement.

That dude is scary as hell. He goes 270 with a military/law enforcement background. Apparently he is not good at stealing boats though.

He has a Barrett .50 and SA-7 Manpads (AA missiles) and nothing to lose and is a skilled marksman. Feel sorry for the police officers involved, you know they're shitting bricks.

    Check this out.

    http://www.huffingtonpost.com/mobile...n_2638701.html

"LOS ANGELES -- Police officers shot innocent people during the frenzied manhunt for Christopher Dorner, a former cop suspected of murdering 3 people and shooting several more.
Officers from the Los Angeles and Torrance police departments engaged in two separate shootings Thursday morning in Torrance, Calif., reports KTLA. They had come across two different vehicles that were similar to the description of Dorner's getaway car, a gray 2005 Nissan Titan pickup.
The first shooting incident happened at 5:20 a.m. Officers from the Hollywood division of the LAPD shot two people who turned out to have no connection to Dorner's crimes. They were transported to the hospital with gunshot injuries.
The second incident occurred 25 minutes later and involved Torrance police. While shots were fired, there were no reported injuries.
In a press conference Thursday morning, LAPD Chief Charlie Beck confirmed that police shot innocent bystanders during the hunt for Dorner. He detailed the two victims' gunshot wounds:
"One has a minor gunshot wound and is in the process of being released. The second person is in stable condition, with two gunshot wounds," said Chief Beck. "Tragically, we believe this was a case of mistaken identity by the officers."
Sources tell the Los Angeles Times that the people shot by police were two women delivering newspapers. One was shot in the hand and the other in the back.
Dorner, a former LAPD officer and Navy reservist, is suspected of fatally shooting Cal State Fullerton basketball coach Monica Quan and her fiance, USC security officer Keith Lawrence. When Quan and Lawrence were found in their car Sunday evening, authorities publicly stated they had no known motive or suspects.
That changed Wednesday, when Dorner published a multi-page manifesto on Facebook implicating himself in the murders of Quan and Lawrence.
"I will bring unconventional and asymmetrical warfare to those in LAPD uniform whether on or off duty," wrote Dorner on his Facebook profile. The former cop blamed the LAPD for his termination, listing people he believed were responsible for his dismissal.
One of the people on the list included Quan's father, retired LAPD captain Randal Quan. Cpt. Quan had represented Dorner during his dismissal hearing before the police Board of Rights, reports Associated Press.
During a press conference that night, Irvine police Chief David L. Maggard announced a manhunt for Dorner, warning the public that he was armed and dangerous.
Thursday morning, Dorner is believed to have resumed his shooting rampage. More, from AP:
Early Thursday, the first shooting occurred in Corona and involved two LAPD officers working a security detail, LAPD Sgt. Alex Baez. One officer was grazed.

Later, two officers on routine patrol in neighboring Riverside were ambushed at a stop light, said Riverside Lt. Guy Toussaint. One died and the other was in surgery. The officers shot were not actively looking for Dorner, Toussaint said.
Anyone with more information about Dorner's whereabouts is encouraged to call police at 213-486-5230. Reach the police during non-business hours at 877-LAPD-24-7."

They didn't even identify the occupants. They just pulled up behind and opened fire. Ridiculous. Apparently the occupants were two Asian women delivering newspapers but I haven't searched enough

    http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/lano...shootings.html

"Los Angeles and Torrance police were involved in two shootings in Torrance early Thursday when police came across vehicles similar to the one sought by authorities in a massive manhunt for an ex-LAPD officer suspected of shooting three other officers.

Neither incident actually involved the suspect, said Torrance police Lt. Devin Chase. The suspect, Christopher Jordan Dorner, 33, was at large Thursday morning.

Two people were struck by gunfire and transported to an area hospital with unknown injuries, Chase said. No officers were injured.

The second incident, which involved Torrance police, occurred at Flagler Lane and Beryl Street about 5:45 a.m. No injuries were reported in that incident.

Chase said both incidents involved vehicles matching the description of the one sought in connection with Dorner.

"Now it appears neither of them are directly related," Chase said. "In both of them, officers believed they were at the time."
It was not immediately clear if occupants of the vehicles matched Dorner's description, Chase said."

Back to the OP, I don't think any amount of gun control will help. They'll find a gun* if they truly want to kill someone with one.

He could also have had some involvement with the Navy's SWCC while he was in service but details haven't emerged.

According to WPTV, he worked mainly with river warfare units.

I think everyone has had one of those moments where someone really does something that "gets to you" for lack of a better description- or makes you feel violated in some way and you imagine busting out in a scene from scarface and blasting all those wasp whores for wronging you... But then you realize you watch to much tv and it's just not gonna happen... Well not this guy... He's going all the way.

I think a few bong hits would have dampened his rage and some Oreos and milk would have sealed the deal--- Mario kart follows for sure

That sounds like my heaven: Asian women, a few rips from the vapo and a box of Oreos.

I just hope the chaos ends soon before the fatalities increase. This is too close to home for several of us here.

Do you recall the snipers incident a few years back. That went on pretty long and they were just a hill Billy and his son... No training. Unfortunately, it's not likely to end quick, and sad to say it will probably get worse before it gets better
