    Fvck ford!!!!!!

So Im driving home (500 mile trip), I've been up since 0330, it's now 0300. I've made it about 400 miles and I need diesel. So as I start to pull over my work truck says "safely stop now". I continue up to the pump and my engine dies. WTF! I look in the manual about what it means. According to the manual the DPF overtemped. I'm a mechanic (not automotive, heavy machinery) so I have all my tools in the truck. I get my temp gun, crawl under the truck at 0230 in the morning and start checking temps. Log em down and get on my phone to find the correct parameters. Everything's in spec. Pull out my multimeter started checking sensors. Turns out its a failed egt pyrometer. Ugh! Luckily I'm smarter then the engineers (egt 4 and egt 3) run close to the same temps. So I spliced the bad to the good, egt3 is now reading egt4 temps with egt4. Disconnected power, reset computer modules. Down the road I go. So if any if u have a ford diesel and ur display says safely stop now...DO NOT go below 3mph or ur engine will shut off. Especially if ur in the middle of no where! Ugh...ford...

Sometimes they just make things a little to difficult for us average back yard mechanics to figure out any more. That would suck for 99% of us.
    Thanks for sharing.

Oh I hear you, nothing like a good ole distributor you can loosen the bolt at the bottom and rotate it to advance your timing a little, adjustable vacuum advance, Holley 750 double pumper with large secondary jets all sitting on a nice edelbrock polished and ported manifold and a set of hooker headers.

It was a lot easier than having to buy larger jets, having them flow tested, buying an AFC or ProM and having to dyno tune the whole things.

Worst thing that ever happens is you need to change plugs, distributor cap or points.

Are you in a union? If I were I would request a Ford. This way when it does break down I'd get paid for sitting on the side of the road waiting for a tow.

Haha you'd get paid a lot of overtime! No, but I got paid regardless...I don't have a time clock...I turn in however many hours I want really as long as they are within reason which is usually between 90-120 hours

Love me a mustang but there's way to many people with a normal one. Aka wusstang lol they could at least get a GT**!

That video makes me giggle like a school girl every time lmao! Something about three turbos... Need the two smaller ones just to spool the big one. Sounds like a bloody jet

Never been a 5.slow fan but if a gun was put to my head the only mustang I would consider is the Shelby.

Been there. Thats why I bought a Cummins.
Its hands down the best diesel motor in a production truck.
To bad it came wrapped in a Dodge. Lol
Honestly it was a great truck. Other then ball joints here n there.

Mustangs are great muscle cars now!
But from 1993 to 2009 ( before the new 5.0)
They weren't the best in performance.
The F-Body ( Camaro & Firebird )owned them in that time frame and continue too.
Although I would take a new mustang over a newer camaro theses days.

The new 2013 Shelby 500 is a BEAST.

Eh, agree to disagree. I love the ws6. Have never really liked a regular Chevy. They make some damn fine super cars though.

    That sounds sexy

Ps: I'm thinking the only reason you like ford is because you haven't been to this side of the pond to witness ford over here...

I've owned 700hp ten second mustangs.

Yes they are good bang for your buck, but the reason is because they are built on 20k rental car. So even the shelby is built on a cheap car. Its a 600+ hp hertz rental. I have friends that own one its fast, built like shit. You drive it hard the brakes start to fade, its no super car.
